Back in the institute, Jade and I walk through the library searching through historical books that might have something that will help us....
"Oh! I might have found something..."
Jade comes running over to me from behind one of the far bookshelves, with a look of uncertainty; we have been looking for three hours now, and haven't found anything in any book... it was starting to get tiring.
"I don't think this will be it, but we have to try."
I give her a nod, as she opens a large brown leather book, I'm sure was once black, but lost its color over time. Or from a lot of tossing around and being used.
She opens the book- many pages after the first, and lays it on the table.
The thin paper is tattered with yellow and green stains, the words of black ink thick on the pages, as if it were written instead of printed; this was older than I thought.
"Where did you find this?"
I asked.
"Oh, just hiding behind one of the bookshelves.. And don't ask why I was behind a bookshelf."
I hold my hands out to prove her i wouldn't question her.... Since I already knew why she was behind a bookshelf; she was after George, Salina's orange cat.
"So, what's the title?"
I ask her, as she moves to the front of the book, keeping the other hand inside so she wouldn't lose her page.
"I don't know. I think it's Vietnamese or Korean... I still can't see the difference."
I shake my head, wondering if she even knew how to speak either one; we never learned those languages, only latin, greek, and some of us even know demon languages. But, like me, some don't.
"It might be something else, sis... but if we need to, we can always ask.... Magnus."
SHe gives me a smile at the name.
"true....he's asian.... He'll have to know these!"
I roll my eyes, moving my pointer finger to my lips.
"Ssh... quiet...! We don't want anyone to know we are in here, searching through books, that are most likely off limits-"
"How would books be off limits if they are reachable? It's not like, we are going to cast a spell."
"We might."
I say, giving her a serious look.
She laughs.
"Ok.... if we have to, I will do it; let's look at the book before jumping to conclusions that this is the one... or whatever; we need to know for sure."
I nod. She's right... when if this isn't it? When if we don't find it?
We will. I know us. IF anything , you and i are an unstoppable team.
I give her a smile.... A real one.
She takes the book in hand, and squints at the odd writing.
"Eh... this, this is unreadable. I swear, if this is english, I need glasses."
I give her a comforting pat on the back, before giving a small laugh.
