Remember

They tell us not to look back but why?
They tell us to forget about the past
Why do they not tell us to remember?
To remember all the good in our lives

We need to remember who we were and remember who we want to be 
Look back on our roots and see how far we've came 
Remember the bad in our lives and take a minute to reflect 
Show ourselves what we have become

Start off by thinking and your mind will go mad 
All the memories flowing, most good, some bad 
Surprise ourselves by what we did
Learn from our mistakes once more

Remember all our relationships and who we did love 
Look at all our hard work and what it gave us
Just look back and be proud,
Proud of yourself

Remember the not so nice things and be confident coming to terms with them 
It will be hard but you will feel better
Just show everyone who you are now 
And remember who you were
