Distracted

Distracted by thoughts that fog the brain,
Intruding and creating havoc when you least expect it.
Natter and chatter fills up around the room
But your head can't hear it,
It's focused on the thoughts.
Thoughts that come and go in waves
Of hours, days, weeks and months.

A voice speaks distracting from the present,
'You aren't good enough' the voice whispers,
Viciously. With intent to kill.
Kill the soul of a human and the senses they use.
It definitely affects my senses,
Hearing and taste obliterated and
Feeling is only negative.

So I try and keep distracted from the distraction,
Everything is a coping mechanism but it doesn't work.
I can't even love anymore, though I always hope for a text.
A text to cheer me up, one that will make my day.

Although, the thoughts will not go away.
All I hope is they disappear and there is only one way.
But I will not lose.
I will keep getting distracted.
