I should have known
The toss of a coin would not decide my destiny
The splash of a coin
Would have meant the world to me when I was little
The harsh reality of adulthood
Presses upon me like i should have with my own dream
The wish was never true
It was the belief that I could do that
I realised that was impossible
The waiting for it to happen and the anticipation of something big
If i knew I would have tried
Not sat back and watch the wish fade away
It just faded within the water
That was a poor pence piece lost
