Korekiyo strolled through the store halls, cart in hand filled with every time of candy you could think of.
"Kit Kats, Oreo chocolate bars, every type of Hershey..."
His bank account was more than in jeopardy at this point, he's going to be broke before he's even 18. Luckily, being prestigious in Hope's Peak got him an easy paying job at a popular antique store not too far away.
He walked towards the checkout counter, customers eyeing his cart in awe and worry. He completely emptied his wallet and collected the small amount of change given back to him, then he sifted to the bottom of the cart to pull out a duffel bag to carry all of the candy.
"Sir? Are you sure you don't want individual bags?"
"Yes, I am. Now if you'll excuse me."
Korekiyo left the store in a victorious stride, making it back to his room under the veil of the evening light. He hid the duffel bag under his pillow as he picked up the large package under his bed.
It was an 'authentic' reaper costume made with the cloth from the deceased and a scythe made of real metal, he was more than certain that it was illegal to sell him this costume in the first place but it was more fitting of the Halloween spirit than something made of plastic.
He put it on and gagged louder than he needed to. He really should've washed it before hand but it's too late now. He puts the candy into a plastic pumpkin pail and puts it on the front table near the entrance before getting his own and heading out. The children roaming the sidewalk all avidly avoiding him, probably because of how bad his costume smelt.
At the end, he only managed to get only a few pieces of candy from the only nice house owners around, some brutally honest. Not only was his morale was partially decreased, SOMEONE had to call out Korekiyo not coming to class, somehow without the teacher noticing themselves.
"Where were you Guji-san? The test we did today was sooooo exciting!" Angie asked.
"I have a pass from principal Kirigiri."
"For trick or treating? Angie didn't know Guji-san enjoyed such childish customs."
"How do you know?"
"I'm not the smartest but the smell of dead bodies from your costume do give it away, only a little though!"
"Just leave me be for now, I'd like to enjoy the prominent customs of Holloween by myself if possible."
"Okay!"
Angie skipped away happily while Korekiyo retreated to his room, enjoying the simple custom of eating the rest of the candy he bought while everyone else did their own thing.
In short, you're never too old to enjoy Holloween unless you're in the DR universe, then make sure you wash your costumes beforehand.Happy Holloween! Or at least one that's better than Korekiyo, I don't know 😂.
