Shuichi held the new documents tightly in his hand, having yet to put them in his bag.
"Well, what's in it for me?"
Kokichi's arms were behind his back. He was rocking back and forth on his feet with his signature grin in his face.
"Or what if I did know? Or what if don't? The world is filled with what ifs, ya know?"
Shuichi groaned a bit but didn't know what he was expecting. Kokichi was crafty and in-the-know. He couldn't just give it all to just anyone.
"This is important, Kokichi. I know you hate wasting ti-"
Kokichi butted in, hands outspread, smug aura in full effect, eyes shining, the whole nine yards of Kokichi Ouma, "That's a lie! I like taking things sloooow. But who really knows? I don't, that's for sure!"
Shuichi crossed his arms, thinking of a proper reward for this information. He would say it would be for the greater good but Kokichi couldn't care less, or so he says. They do hang out a lot, and he does seem excited every time they do so. Maybe...
"We can-
"Up-!" Kokichi holds up one finger to silence Shuichi, "I can't just give info like that to any person so easily, even to someone as pretty as you. You have to work for it!"
Shuichi brushed off the compliment without leaving a light pink stain on his cheekbones, origins only speaking of embarrassment. He checked outside to see that the evening lights illumated the way away. He didn't want to have to go out during the night time, but if it takes this case off of his back, he'll risk it.
"Okay, what is it?"
"Answer this riddle and I'll tell you! But remember that little ol' me is as unorthodox as they come!"
Shuichi crossed his arms, "Sure."
"I am full but could hold a million things. I encompass nothing before you use me though. What am I?"
"A blank sheet of paper."
Kokichi's mouth went against for a second before shaking it off, "So fast too?"
"You told me this before, but that was the simple answer. A person could fit if you're talking about love as metaphor, which I doubt. But still."
He cleared his throat and retained his smirk, "Well, that was more than I expected! My Shushi is full of surprises! Ran's out with stick-man a train ride away. There's some creepy forest up ahead but you can just walk through it, that's about it."
Shuichi nodded and waved a quick goodbye to Kokichi. After the quiet shut of his door, he throws himself onto his bed. He grabs one of the stuffed animals under his head and huddles with it tightly as he drifts of into unconsciousness.
He quickly recovers from his state of shock, he didn't know what he was expecting, but it was... new nonetheless. Kokichi doesn't get surprised easily, especially since he is never taken seriously after any single consonant and vowel he remotely says, but in this case, Shuichi hit a bit too close to home for the answer he created for himself and no one more.
What if that was his intention? Kokichi put it off in his mind because there would no way he could get that valuable piece of information. He could be overreacting for all he knows, his stupid emotions making his mind run circles.
Kokichi was a liar, a skillful one at that, but even he wouldn't know.

Miya had a suggestion earlier that she had almost forgot.
She wasn't completely heartless to just kill his brother's friend outright. Intense jealously was at play most of the time, but easing Korekiyo to the idea that one of his friends is going to die today is the least she could do.
