Amelia - 20 weeks & Teddy - 16 Weeks

7:15 AM

Amelia stood in the skills lab with DeLuca running the simulation of her big surgery for that day and everything just seemed wrong. Since coming back from LA almost a month and a half ago, her life was causing her strife in every aspect. She had to beg Teddy to let her operate at least once a week, with the understanding that Koracick had to be in the OR with her. That in itself pissed Amelia off. Then, in catching up with her case load, Amelia comes back to see that Tom had turned her research lab upside down, making it impossible for her to find anything. She had an anatomy scan with Arizona, who was just a shocked to see twins, then told her both babies were girls. And now, at 7:15 AM, DeLuca, who was supposed to assist Amelia in surgery, could hold the graft steady enough for Amelia not to kill the patient. She dropped the forceps onto the table in a fit a rage. "You call that perfect execution? Again!" She yelled. DeLuca smacked his lips and picked up the faux graft as Teddy came in with two take out cups.

"DeLuca, take a walk," she said. Gladly, DeLuca ran out of the room towards the pit. "Sit. Take a load off before you have to stand for four hours in surgery," Teddy demanded. Amelia sighed and dropped into the swivel chair. "You look exhausted," Teddy examined, handing Amelia the green tea and sipping her own.

"Well, I was up all night with the babies," Amelia sighed. "Leo was sleeping on Ella who was lying on Emmy who was chilling on my sciatic, so I got maybe 2 hours of sleep sporadically," she shared. Teddy couldn't help but melt at the sounds of those names.

"Awe, their girls?" She gushed. Amelia rolled her eyes and leaned against the table in front of her.

"That's all anyone hears now. I've told that story three times today and no one has cared about my lack of sleep. They only care that I'm having twin girls," complained the surgeon. "I don't think I can do this surgery today," she sulked, "I'm too exhausted, and DeLuca is of no help," Amelia decided. Teddy rubbed Amelia's forearm comfortingly.

"We can kick the surgery to Tom if you want," Teddy suggested. Amelia wiped a free falling tear and nodded. She hated feeling useless but, once again her sciatic nerve was in fire and she just wanted to sleep. "Oh my gosh. Amelia feel this," Teddy excitedly screamed. She moved around the table and practically forced Amelia to feel her baby move.

"Oh and we're feeling, okay," Amelia whispered. Teddy smiles down at her bump with Amelia's hand under hers. "So, does this make us friends?" Amelia joked.

"The best of," Teddy played, releasing Amelia's hand and moving back around the table. "I want to talk to you about something before I share it with Owen. I want to get your opinion on it," Teddy started. Amelia furrowed her eyebrows and picked at the bagel.

"What's up?" Amelia asked. Teddy played with her finger tips before taking a deep breath.

"I want to take full custody of this baby," Teddy said. Amelia's eyes went wide.

"What? Why?" Amelia asked. "Owens a great father," she tried. Teddy shook her head and folded her arms.

"Owen may be a great father for your kids, but he doesn't even act like mine exists. If he was such a great father then why didn't he see is our baby was okay after the crash. Or call later. Or ever? And it seems like every time I mention this child, he has to go. Do you know that he hasn't seen our baby once? He never shows up for ultrasounds, he never asks about how the baby is, and at this point I don't care," Teddy ranted. Amelia was thrown off.
