Enzo

I was watching Cade and Julian's practice when I saw people running. What in the world? I looked to see a crowd; then I made my way to them. Then I saw her. She was crying and holding her arm.

What the hell?

Cade and Julian made their way over and found out what happened. They signed to me about Everly falling. I turned and looked at her. A few minutes later, paramedics arrived. They came to check her and ended up taking her away.

I stood there and looked to see Audrey and Tori laughing. Then it hit me. They usually caught her, but they didn't. They let her fall.

I turned and walked away. How can people be so nasty?

I went to the hospital. I took Cade's car. Eh, I'll deal with him later.

Cade and Julian went to the car only to find it gone.

"Seriously? I swear, I will beat Enzo's ass when I see him," Cade grumbled as Julian laughed.

While they were trying to figure out what to do, Andi and a guy walked up.

"Well, might as well call your dads," Julian suggested.

"Oh, yeah, sure, hey dads, my dipshit cousin stole my car, who doesn't have his freaking license. That should go over well with them, especially Wade. Cole would be no issue. Wade would be many issues," he huffed.

"Who the hell calls their dad by their first name," Andi asked them.

"He does," Julian shrugged, pointing at Cade.

"Usually I call them Dad. But sometimes people don't know who I'm talking about with my dads. Who are you?" He looked at Julian. "Who are they?"

"Well, the girl is Andi, who is a cheerleader. The guy, not a clue," he said casually.

The guy said, "I'm Andi's older brother, Elias."

"Would you guys like a ride, or would you like to stand here talking to yourself for the rest of the night," she asked them.

"Can you give me a ride to the hospital so I can kick Enzo's ass? That way, he's already there for medical attention," Cade groaned.

"Sure thing," she laughed as they walked to the car.

"Nice tats," Julian said to Elias.

"Yeah, I like them," he shrugged.

I arrived at the hospital and went to find Everly. I saw someone at the desk and tapped on it. They looked up at me; then, I signed. They smiled and signed back.

I explained to them who I was looking for and why. The person got up and led me back to where Everly was. They were busy wrapping her arm.

The lady spoke to the guy, and he told her what was going on. And she signs back to me.

"She fractured her wrist and arm. They have to put a soft cast on until the swelling goes down, then they can cast it," the nurse explained.

I thanked her, and when they finished, they left us. I pulled out my phone and sent a text. She picked up her phone, read it, and cried. I did the one thing they always gave me growing up. I hugged her. She wrapped her right arm around me and hugged me back.

Something told me she needed that hug.

I just held her as she held onto me. I may be deaf, but I'm sure in the hell not blind. Everly is broke and not in the right way.

A little while later, people came through the door. I turned to see the same guy from the school parking lot. He walked over, and I just watched him.

"Oh, my god, they told me what happened. Let's get you home," he spoke. But from the look on her face, she wasn't happy, and I wasn't buying how he was acting.

"Come on, sweetheart," he said as she slid off the table and left with him. I followed behind. He had a black eye from when I hit him. Good, because I had a feeling it wouldn't be the last time.

I walked out of the back as I saw my cousins, uncles, and parents standing there, well, shit. Cade or Julian must have called them. Plus, Cade looked like he wanted to beat my ass.

Yep, I'm in deep shit since I don't have a driver's license and drove here.

Everly and the guy walked over to them. I couldn't see what he was saying, but Julian was signing so I could find out.

"I'm just going to take Everly home so she can rest now," he told them in the fakest concern ever.

"Maybe we should call her mom," Cole suggested.

"Oh, it's okay because her mom works a lot and left me to take care of her. We'll be going now," he faked a smile. They walked away.

Cole looked at Wade. "I don't like him."

"I don't think any of us like him," Adrian added.

Dad looked at me. "You're in deep shit."

I sighed. I knew this was coming.

We all went home, and I sat on the couch as I got the lecture from Hell. Not that one, the other one. What were you thinking about a talk I was getting? It's never fun to sit there and get that.

As Dad lectured me, Mom gave her two cents. "Were you safe?"

"Rain!" Dad exclaimed.

"Well, if he obeyed the laws of the road, isn't that what matters?" She asked him.

"You're not helping, and what he did was illegal," he replied.

"Then why do other people drive without a driver's license? It's not right, but they do it anyway," she reasons. It's a good point.

"And if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?" Dad asked her.

"Well, that's just silly if they jumped off a bridge. First, the person needs a life jacket; then, they need to know how to swim. Plus, by the time they hit the water, the impact might kill them," she answered.

"Rain, we're getting off track," he sighed.

"Okay, then what Enzo did was sweet. He cares about her and went to check on her," she told him.

"Yeah, and he could have gone to jail."

"Oh, like you did for helping me?" She reminded him as he facepalmed himself.

Never argue with a person who has autism. They're way too literal. It's the same thing with a logical person.

I got grounded. My parents didn't allow me to have my phone for a week and no hanging out with my friends. Eh, that's all right with me.

I will not say I regret my decision because I don't. The only thing I regret is watching Everly leave with the guy. Something was wrong with that guy.

I had a feeling that they would turn my life upside down, but I knew one thing; It would take two special people in my life to help, all thanks to Uncle Cole and what would happen.
