Cade
"Cade, did you need anything," Wade asked me.
"For the millionth time, no," I said, cringing as I got up. Ugh, I felt like hell. Guess getting plowed in by a truck and flipping your car will do that.
"Son, I brought you a balloon," Cole said as he brought me two dozen balloons.
"You do realize I'm not five, right?" I asked Cole.
"Oh, that's right, hang on I forgot the teddy bear," he said, leaving the room and bringing in a giant stuff bear.
"Really?" I gave him a look.
"Look, it's so cuddly. It's saying love me, Cade. I will make you feel better," he said in a high pitch voice. Why did it have to be me? No, seriously, why did it have to be me?
The doorbell rang. Please don't let it be that skank birth mother.
"Yeah, he's upstairs," Wade said. Okay, that's a good sign. Considering Cole would beat his ass if he let her in.
I stood there looking at Cole like he was insane when Andi walked up. She looked at the giant bear. "Do I even want to know?"
"Dad is delusional," I sighed.
"Oh, he's just grumpy. Sort of like when he drops a load in his diaper and need it changed immediately," he smirked.
"Dad!" I yelled.
"It's my right as your dad to embarrass you. Remember that," he said as he left. "Wade, where's my baby?"
"Not this again!" Wade yelled back.
She chuckled as I rolled my eyes.
"Excuse my crazy family. Dad has baby fever, and Dad two keeps avoiding it," I said as she laughed.
I slowly made my way into the bedroom. I took a seat on my bed.
"You look like hell," she smirked.
"Is there a reason you're here, or are you just here to bust my balls?"
"Both," Andi said as she shrugged as she walked over and took a seat next to me. "Does this hurt?" She asked as she shoved me playfully.
"Ow! Yes, stop that," I exclaimed.
"Well, at least we know you feel pain, so that makes you human," she laughed.
"Oh, haha," I rolled my eyes.
"I see you still have your sense of humor even though you look pitiful," she giggled.
"Considering my birth mother is a whore, and they chased me the other night, causing me to get hit by a truck and flip my car, oh yeah," I said sarcastically, as I rolled my eyes.
"Have you heard from her," she asked me.
"No, thank god. Although Enzo texted me and said she's probably lurking around waiting for her next meal," I said to her.
"That's disturbing," she said.
"Enzo is a disturbed individual. Did you expect any less?" I asked her.
"Oh, god, no," she laughed. I had to laugh.
"I heard about Julian," she told me.
"Yeah, it's been rough on everyone, but Julian is a strong guy. I have faith in him that he will be okay," I assured her.
"You're a great friend," she smiled at me.
"Enzo and Julian are my best friends. If I didn't get banged up, I would so be there with several bags of junk food," I said enthusiastically, making her laugh. Damn, she had a nice laugh. Wait. What? Stop it, Cade. It's Andi. She's a cheerleader who makes sarcastic remarks with a beautiful smile and beautiful brown eyes. Damn it.
"I will go. I just came to check on you," Andi told me. I looked at her. Then she did something I wasn't expecting. She leaned over and kissed me on the lips, whoa.
"I'll see you later, gimpy," she smirked as she got up. She walked up to the teddy bear, patted its head, and left.
What the hell just happened?
I sat there, stunned. Andi just kissed me.
"What's wrong with you? You look like you just saw a huge spider," Wade said to me.
I moved quickly, yelping.
"Some things never change," he chuckled.
Yes, I had a massive fear of spiders. Don't judge. Ever see those things with their legs and the way they move. Ugh, I freaking hate those things.
I still remember when Enzo and Julian put those fake ones in my sleeping bag when our dads took us camping. I cried; they laughed. I slept with Wade and Cole, jerks.
Wade chuckled as I rolled my eyes at him.
"No, but Andi just kissed me," I said as his face contorted in surprise.
Then he got a massive smile on his face as my eyes widened. Oh, god, no. I tried to get up quickly, but still recovering from the accident was hard. He ran out of the room, "Cole! Cade got his first kiss!"
"What the hell? And I missed it? Damn it! Where the hell is my camera?" Cole yelled.
I facepalmed myself when they found out. Shit, me and my big mouth.
The next thing I knew, I saw a flash and look like a deer caught in headlights.
"That's a keeper," Cole grinned.
"Seriously? What's next, a cake?" I gave them a look.
"Ooh, that's not a bad idea," he said as he turned and left. Ugh, most kids get that infinite wisdom from their dads. You know, getting to first base and all that crap. I get a cake. I swear my dads were weird.
I text Enzo and let him know. His response was, "It's about damn time. Thought you would be a monk."
I text Julian. Yeah, he may go through things, but it didn't feel right leaving him out.
His response was, "Did you slip her the tongue?" He still has his sense of humor.
It was so embarrassing. Why do my family and friends have to be so weird?
Maybe it was a fluke. I seriously doubt it meant anything to Andi. I mean, why would it? We don't even know each other well enough. But then again, she kissed me. Hmm, I think I'll lay here and think about this.
I could smell cake baking. Only my dads, I rolled my eyes and shook my head while laughing. At least, something good happened after everything, that's a plus.
