Cade
I was hanging out with Andi. She was schooling me in the do's and didn't of what a boyfriend does. At least someone has a clue because I don't have a clue.
Elias walked in, and he didn't look too happy.
"What crawled up your ass and died?" She asked him as I sat there, trying not to laugh.
"Julian came into the coffee shop," he told her.
"And? Did you two make things official?" She asked him.
"He left before I talked to him," he told her in a frustrated tone.
"Oh, and what did my twat of a brother do this time?" She asked as he looked at her.
"You two have a fascinating relationship," I said as they both looked at me.
"Trey stopped by the coffee house, so we were catching up," he told her.
"What? Like in Trey, ex-boyfriend, Trey?" She exclaimed.
"Yeah," he answered. "Julian saw us and left before I said anything."
"You wouldn't be all flirty with Trey, were you?" She asked him. He looked at her. Damn.
"You're a king-size twat; you know that?" She shook her head in disbelief. I had to agree with her.
"I have to agree. You're a dick," I said in agreement as he gave me a look.
"Elias, you can't tell someone like Julian you will be patient with him then go flirt with someone else. Not after what he went through. It doesn't work," she told him bluntly.
"Andi, Trey and I were together for two years. That's a lot of history," he said defensively.
"Really? Because if I remember correctly, he freaking cheated on your stupid ass constantly, and like the moron that you are, took him back," she snapped.
Whoa, talk about stupidity at its finest.
"I know it was a bonehead move on my part. I tried calling Julian, but he won't answer my calls," he sighed.
"Do you blame him? Elias, you screwed this up. That's your fault. Come on, Cade," she said as she got up. I followed suit. Something told me it would be wise to leave with her.
Julian
That night I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I didn't want to eat or talk to anyone. Why bother? So they can all tell me I'm making too much out of things.
I know what I saw, and Elias was flirting with some guy. I know we aren't together or anything, but I thought there was a possibility. I suck at this.
I'll continue with my therapy sessions and do my thing. Not like anyone is beating down my door.
There was pounding on my front door. Okay, scratch that. Someone felt the need to hit on it.
I got up and went downstairs to find out who the lunatic was that was pounding on my front door. I opened it to find Elias. He went to take a step inside, "No." He promptly took a step back.
"Julian," Elias said.
"What do you want, Elias?"
"Can we talk?"
"About what?" I asked as I shrugged.
"I'm sorry. The guy at the coffee shop was my ex. I got caught up in the past," he reasoned.
I looked at him, "That's a piss poor reason and pretty stupid."
"Look, I'm trying," he said.
"Trying? You told me you would wait until I was ready. I came to tell you I was ready and find you flirting with your ex. No offense, but that tells me not to believe anything you say because it's a lie," I spat.
He looked at me with furrowed brows.
"It's funny, you can dish out the truth, but you can't take it. Leave me alone, Elias," I said as I closed the door on him. People can say that was harsh, but can you blame me?
The next day, I talked to everyone. We didn't discuss Elias, and I didn't want to talk to him. What he did was a dumbass move.
As the bell rang, I went to the gym only to get cornered by some guys.
"Oh, look its fag boy," one remarked.
"Yeah, I'm gay, so what?" I shrugged.
"Yeah, we also heard you like it rough," another snickered. Then it started as the guys taunted me, and my temper flared. A fight ensued, and the teacher broke it up. I got sent to the principal's office. Since I threw the first punch, I got suspended. This day gets better and better.
My dad came to get me and spoke to Wade.
"Do you blame him, Morris?"
"Adrian, he can't hit everyone that says something. Trust me, I'm glad he stood up for himself, but he can't hit people when they didn't hit him first. That's why he's suspended. But don't think the other boys are getting off light. We have a zero-tolerance for bullying. You know that," he explained.
"I know that. It's just Julian has been having a rough time of it. Can you cut him a little slack?" He asked Wade.
"I am. I'm only suspending Julian for two days. The other boys are getting suspended longer. Adrian, I get it. But I can't treat Julian any differently from anyone else. At school, they do something wrong; they suffer the consequences."
The thing was that even though Dad and Wade were best friends, he knew Wade was right. Using their friendship would be wrong and put Wade in a bad position.
"Okay," Dad told him as he left the office. Then he collected me, and we went home. I got grounded. If I didn't throw the first punch, it would be a different story, but unfortunately, I did.
It wasn't my year. I get assaulted, humiliated, and treated like shit from bullies, yay me. On top of it, the first guy I developed feelings for, feels the need to flirt with someone else.
I just laid on my bed. Maybe one day, I will find happiness. Today is not that day.
