25 - Lips Collide

Justin's Point of View 

"Finally, you're here, Buddy." sapa Scooter padaku. Rupanya dia sedang menungguku di dekat ruang rekaman. Aku sempat menyapa beberapa orang di studio sebelum akhirnya menghampiri Scooter. "Tell me, what happened this morning, Justin." pintanya.

"Well, actually, I was just come with her to the Hollywood Radio, and suddenly she announced about the single that she said we're doing a duet on that. Which is I really don't know when and where I did a record with her, seriously. And what I'm going to say to you, is... Scooter, did you know about this before?"

Scooter hanya menghela napas panjang. Aku menatapnya, seolah menuntut jawaban.

"I don't know, Justin. I really don't. I didn't make any agreement with her manager about this, okay? And if she said so, she's lying. We really should end this freaking deal with her. Because it's getting annoying, you know? I wish I never asked you to do such a crappy deal with her." ujar Scooter penuh perasaan bersalah.

"But you did and I did a stupid thing too, okay? It doesn't matter now. All I want to do, is we end the agreement."

"How about your relationship? The love? All the things that you plan with her?" Scooter sedang mengkhawatirkanku, aku bisa lihat itu dari sorot matanya. Kini ia memegang pundakku.

"For the first time ever, I feel like she's not the one for me. I don't know why, but somehow my love for her is not like what I'm thinking, you know. It's different kind of love." jawabku, Scooter hanya mengangguk mendengarku.

"And about the relationship, she always want me to make it into a real relationship thing --which is never happen, we never officilally together. I still feel like I owe something to Dania, and I don't know, there's this girl who suddenly ruin my sleep every night. I think you need to know about this. But please, don't tell anyone, okay?"

"Well, I did fall in love with Selena. But that feeling suddenly fly away, I don't know... It's crazy how my heart works, sometimes. It doesn't make sense at all."

"That's love, you can never predict it, Justin. Sometimes you never want to get out, but there is time when you really want to stop. But real love never lies. It always feels right, no matter what happens." timpalnya panjang lebar padaku. Reaksiku justru sebaliknya, aku tertawa dengan eskpresi meledek padanya.

"Whoa, you just say something nice like a bible, Man. You're really something else. Back to what we should finish, what is your plan for now?" tanyaku. Scooter pun mulai terlihat sedang berpikir keras.

"Hm... we just need to wait until the time is right to get you out of this, okay? And I promise, this whole single thing, I will handle it for you. By next week, the news will gone." ujar Scooter pada akhirnya.

"Fine, sounds fun. You know what? You just give me an idea to write a song, Man. I think I'm gonna stay here a little longer. I heard Usher gonna do a visit today. I'm just gonna wait for him and make some good lyrics with Poo Bear here," ujarku. Setidaknya aku bisa memperbaiki moodku dari apa yang kulihat tadi sebelum perjalanan ke sini. Ya, Cassie dan Max. Mungkin aku bisa melupakan itu sejenak dengan menuliskan beberapa kata. Entah kenapa tiba-tiba moodku jadi berubah sedikit membaik.

"Okay, J. I'll go out with Carin anyway. Good luck on what you doing. Before I leave to pick up Carin... Mmm... Anything you want to say to Cassie? You know, I can always talk to her, if you want to..." aku tahu dia sedang menggodaku. Sialan.

"Just go away, Scooter!"

Menghabiskan waktu di studio seharian membuatku sedikit lupa tentang masalah rumit yang menimpaku akhir-akhir ini. Saat mobil Ferrari-ku memasuki halaman rumah, aku melihat Cassie berjalan hendak masuk ke mansionku. Entah kenapa dia bisa pulang malam begini, akupun tak tahu. Aku memutuskan untuk bicara padanya sebelum ia menghindariku lagi.
