"KILALA mo na ba si Bomi no'ng nagkita kayo sa souvenir shop?" sita ko kay Krey no'ng naiwan kami sa mesa dahil sabay na nagpunta sa ladies' room sina Bomi at Yuni. Kine-claim ng dalawang 'yon na hindi raw sila close pero hindi naman makapag-CR nang hindi sinasama ang isa't isa. "Did you try to approach her then on purpose?"
"No," sagot naman ni Krey. "It was pure accident. Nagkataon lang talaga na dumaan ako do'n para bilhan ng stuffed toy ang pamangkin ko. She looked familiar to me then pero na-confirm ko lang na siya nga 'yong nakita ko sa file ni Hendrick no'ng nagkita na kami sa condominium building."
"What kind of information does Hendrick has in his files?"
"Just your pictures, addresseses, and name of universities you go to," sagot niya. "Ah, meron din pala siyang information tungkol sa kapatid mong si Trish."
That made me worry even more. "If he bothers my sister, I won't forgive you."
"Hendrick is only interested in you and Bomi since you're the closest people to Yuni right now," katwiran niya. "Tray, he just needs a heavy reason to give up on Yuni. Kung magpapanggap si Yuni na in love sa'yo, susuko na 'yon."
"No," giit niya. "Hindi responsibility ni Yuni na bigyan siya ng reason para mag-give up. Yuni already said no and it's Hendrick's job to accept it and move on."
"But–"
"I won't like it if the situation is reveresed," putol ko sinasabi niya. "Hindi ko magugustuhan kung kunwari eh magko-confess ka kay Bomi."
Tumaas ang kilay niya. "Are you threatened? Takot ka bang may umagaw kay Bomi kung biglang may magpaparamdam?"
"Try niyo lang," confident na sabi ko. "Tingnan natin kung magpapaagaw siya."
