Diane's pov
I looked at the huge building in front of me on the other side of the street. But more over, the huge line of people that wrapped around the building. There was two doors with two bodyguards, the left with the huge line of people, and the right-no one there, but 3 big white letters above the door, VIP. I looked at how everyone was dressed, casual and dressy-what kind of club is this? Glad I dressed the part. I had on white jeans, a white blouse with a skinny gold belt, a tan leather jacket and matching boots. I had my hair in a braided ponytail.
The sun was going under the horizon as the place was illuminated by the lighted sign on the Frontier. I swallowed, "Well here goes nothing" I mutter under my breath, but where's Travis? Uhhh... I look both ways making sure the road was clear and quickly crossed it. I looked at the people, some peeping and looking at me- Do these people think I'm a celebrity or some fancy rich person?! Okay, cool it Diane, just simply give your name-since that's what bodyguards do right? They ask the name then search through some papers and that's all. I approach the bodyguard, clutching onto my cross body. He was in a simple uniform, stereotypical black shirt, jeans and shades. He looked scary, almost like he's gonna jump me any second.
He looked down at me with a questioning look, I could hear the music all the way out here! "The line is over there" he points the the left. "I was invited here."
"What?"
I spoke louder, "I was invited here!"
"Oh! Who invited you?" "Travis, Travis Sanchez!"
"Oh that guy?" he grabs a walkie- talkie from his belt. "Caleb I have someone over here for VIP- 2nd floor." he talks into it, "Over." second floor? The door opened and a white guy in a tuxedo comes up to me, "He'll lead you to the party." I nod and follow Caleb as the door quickly closes behind me. I looked at the huge floor full of people dancing, bars, a DJ, strobe lights. We went upstairs, and saw fewer people- the second floor.
About everyone was dressed in some fashion brand-Guess, Versace, Chanel- everything. Man probably a chain or a ring from these people cost more than a college tuition! Diamonds flashed, phone screens glowed. The whole floor was dressed in red carpet, Caleb led me to a table that had about three guys.
"Travis? You asked me to bring her here?" a guy in a crisp-looking white hoodie at the right end looked at me, "Hey D!!" Travis smiles, and pats the seat next to him. I slipped in, clutching my purse in my lap a bit.
"So this is the girl you told me about? She's....shorter than I expected?" someone comments. I look at the others, two others- one a Latino looking guy, and the other a black guy. Both of them tall, but Travis was the tallest of the three of them together. Wait he's been talking about me?! This is the exact reason why I steer clear of people! At least these two are cute, "Don't call her that, she bites" Travis pretends to whisper.
"Oh, she bites does she?" the Latino wiggles his eyebrows at me. Uhhh...
"Louis stop creepin' her out. That's not how we treat our guests!" the black guy scolds the Latino playfully. He was the shortest one out of the three.
"Anyway" Travis butts in. "Diane these two are mis amigos, bonita(my friends, pretty)" he points to the black guy. His skin reminded me of hot chocolate- I don't mind a little chocolate. He had brown eyes that were down to earth, he had on a navy blue coat-vest with a Hilfiger shirt under,
"This here is Dominic, and this boi here is-you guessed it- Louis. Don't worry, he does this to every person he meets, but he's friendly" Travis introduces me to the two.
"Nice name Diane. Sounds like a princess name, I think you just found your Prince Charming~" Louis says, but gets smacked in the back of the head, "It's Princess Diana stupid!" I almost let a laugh slip from my mouth. "You didn't have to hit me so hard!"
"Maybe it'll knock some sense into you for once."
When can I leave? I'm not used to this. "She's a quiet one isn't she?...wait...aren't you the girl that fell in front of Travis here?" Dominic questions. Not again, "She looks like her a bit." Louis laughs. "She is" Travis answers for me, "So she fell head over heels for you right Travis?" "Maybe" Travis wraps an arm around my shoulder. As much as I wanted to stay in his warmth, I'm not that girl. I remove his arm away from me, "Do you talk at all?" Louis makes a daring smile, well at least I'm at a table of cute guys. Do they have an Insta too? Hope so! I shrug my shoulders smiling nervously. "Least you didn't bring someone from the str-" Dominic blocks Louis out, "Either way, if you're a friend of Travis, you're a friend of ours too! Welcome to the club!" I let off a small chuckle. "So can you at least tell us one thing about you?" Louis asks, all three looked at me. What do I say? I um well.... I- l like....can I just think of something simple?! I thought about it and had the perfect one. I opened my mouth to say something and before I even let one word out -not even one syllable, loud gun shots were heard.
All of us snapped our necks and got up from the table, everyone was screaming in fear, running for their lives. People was going to the emergency exits and everything. People running into each other and over each other. I could see the 1st floor below us from where I was, a group of people in green hoodies with rifles and guns shootin' up the place. Some of them parted. Then the door on this floor was kicked in, and gunshots ringed in my ears. I ducked, but I couldn't move anywhere besides getting pushed and shoved.
A few already fell over, Am I going to die here?! I was almost trampled over, but I was suddenly picked up and carried. I'm not sure what else happened next, everything just swirled around me. I smelled a familiar smell, but it didn't smell like cologne, like cinnamon. I just closed my eyes tight, I could tell who it was already. I could hear his breathing, it was steady and full of adrenaline, his heart beat was beating fast, almost as fast as mine. I felt a cold whiff of air, and bright lights that shone through my eye lids.
But then I blacked out. It was like my life flashed before my eyes.
I blacked out.
