Speech
Diane speaks up to the classroom, "This here is our project, we observed a tree from its dormant form. During the winter, all of the leaves are absent while it's dormant. Before then, the leaves from the previous season loses its chlorophyll- the substance that makes the leaves green. The colors range from red, orange, brown, and some times yellow. These colors also inspired the seasonal fall fashion colors for us."
This was it. The day of presentation. Diane and Travis was presenting their project assignment that was given to them back in winter and was expected to be finished by the end of the school year- partners had to chose a living thing and present information on it. Though sometime later on, they were told they had an option of making a model or a video, rather than being forced to do the video at first.
It was basically the last grade and counted as an exam, though it was told to everyone at last minute-today-literally today-the day of presenting. Instead, Diane told Travis that she wanted to present the whole thing, he was surprised since she really was not the talkative type and would rather take a whole day of math and algebra rather than doing Speech. He was holding the small potted tree-he was being a goof ball instead and was playing with it, making some giggle.
After their presentation, they sat down. There were more people presenting: some did a flower, a plant of some type, or maybe even a chestnut until they realized it was not a seed when nothing grew out of the pot they planted it in.
Besides people asking Diane about how she was and everything, the whole day was pretty normal-until she had a locker full of gifts. People, mostly classmates, gave her 'Feel Better ' cards, and trinkets and stuff. She was grateful for the things of course, not realizing how many people actually cared about her.
As for her college situation, while she was at home, Diane applied for different colleges around, recently won a few scholarships, so she was good.....well a little bit but she was still good. She even applied to the one in her town, Larington University. She knew she couldn't get in due to financial issues, but the curious Sagittarius in her wanted to know if she would be accepted or not.
Surprisingly, they were the first to reply back to me before the other colleges. It was shocking, but Diane received an email from them saying that she was accepted. To be honest she thought she was too dumb to go there- everyone here called it 'Harvard's Little Sister'. That was the college she wanted to go to, even the front office knew about her interest in the place. Not all of the scholarships could afford to cover the tuition and everything.
She told Travis about it and of course he was happy for her. He even offered to pay the whole tuition for his girlfriend-literally everything.......
