Travis pov
"Travis, I can have little outbursts sometimes. But a lot of stuff just happened and..." Diane twirled her fingers. "Diane, can I tell you something?" I went over to her and grabbed a chair. She was still in her clothes, just hooked to IV. "What? You're gonna leave me now?"
"No, never pequeña."
"I-I just make so many people worry about me when I don't mean it, Travis. I-I'm just a wreck!" she shove her face in her hands, her voice breaking. "No you're not, don't say that. You're more than you think you are Diane, I see more than a 'wreck'"
" I can't even walk into a simple store without fainting like a weakling!" she sobs, "Now here I am crying again like a stupid baby!" I bit my lip, as she wiped tears away, refusing to give in. "Diane, I don't see that" she looked up at me, while scooting to the edge of the bed, making her feet dangle. The only background noise was the constant beeping on the heart monitor machine.
"I see a very intelligent young lady in front me, who's very fond of space and stars, who needs understanding and affection. She's afraid if she opens up to people, they'll stab her back. But despite her size, she's the most kindest one out there with the biggest heart. She's an amazing listener, and she just doesn't realize everyone wants to be her." (actually he has a point D) she opened her mouth to say something but sighed in defeat instead, the beeping paced a little bit, she looked away from me but her chubby cheeks were glowing a dusted pink.
"Remember the shooting? And you said you owed me one? Well you already saved my life, and you just didn't notice it." I cross my arms, "How?" she quietly asks. "The first day I came to Middleton, just saying.....when I came home, I was..." she looked back at me, "You what?" I sighed, "I was going to commit suicide actually, but instead I decided to maybe overdose and go to sleep" the look of worry wiped on her face,
"I had the bottle of aspirin in my hand, ready to consume the whole thing-but then I thought of you. How you accidentally fell in front of me, and when we met in Speech, and then the project, you know. I was always wondering how you were quiet, you made me curious Diane." she was quiet the whole time, sniffing and wiping tears on the sweater I bought her. "....What are you trying to say?" she asks questioningly.
"Diane, you're worth living for" I run my hand through my hair. She was biting her lip, part of it tucked in by her teeth. I never seen her blush like that before, "....." "UM...I never heard anyone tell me that before. ^^" she laughs it off, trying to make her blush go away, the only result was a slight blush and deep dimples complementing her facial features even more. Did she get the message? I grabbed her hand, the one free of IV, "I'm sorry about what happened-"
"Its my fault.....Sorry about what happened." she looks down at my arm, sneakily slipping her hand out of mine. "What happened to your arm?" she asks. I look down, seeing my jacket sleeve was pulled up a little, I pulled it down quickly, "It's nothing." she gives me a disapproving smirk, "Let me see! Please??" her brown eyes look into mine. "Its fine Diane, I just injured myself-" she grabbed my arm quickly, I flinched a little. The cold air hits my exposed skin and bandages. "..." she looked at me, "Are you cutting?" she unwrapped the bandage a little, "What have you done to your arm?" she whispers in concern.
"Its a long story! Just don't tell anyone" I whisper back, a knock on the door was heard, I quickly bandaged my arm back, pulling the sleeve, Diane laying back to her original position.
A doctor came in, "Oh, you're finally awake!" "Hello Travis" she smiles, I wave back shyly. "Alright Miss Moore, your grandparents are out in the lobby and so are your friends, you should be out by Monday!"
"Monday? Why can't I go tonight?"
"Well, it isn't really safe for you to be out at this time, since your nervous system is still jumpy and because of the medication you're under. But now that you're awake, we want to give you some results, it seems you hit the back of your head"
"I hit the back of my head?"
"Yes ma'am. The ambulance was called to a store, you were found unconscious on the floor in an aisle ma'am. "
"I don't remember going to a store...." she trails off. "Well maybe when the medication wears off you'll might remember, luckily its just a bruise, so we're giving you a prescription. You'll be out by Monday, just to make sure you'll be alright."
"Fine-*yawn*" "Are you two friends?...Oh my! You're Diane! No wonder you looked familiar!" "Whut."
"*ahem* I showed your friends and family the results already. Your grandparents caused quite the scene, worried about you, until they saw your friends. They're less worried now" she chuckles, "Would you like to see them now?" Diane nods. "Alright, I'll be back" she leaves.
