Diane pov

Val drove us to the hospital, and texted Dominic and Louis about it on the group chat and Mel as well. I called and told my grandparents that I'll have to come home later that night, they understood, knowing I was safe with my friends. I sat beside Val in the lobby, since we were told that we couldn't go in with the doctors, in a way though, we would be in the way. We were introduced to a private waiting room, since we didn't want any attention caught by others at the sight of Valeria.

It was big, and a bit neater, but colder since I guess barely anyone goes here. I was in deep thought, playing with my hair, twirling it around my fingers.

"Don't fall dead on me Diane." Val says quietly, "I won't. I-I'm just worried....its something he t-told me earlier." I shiver.

"What was-" Val was interrupted by the opening of a door, Mel, Louis and Dominic. "What happened?! Where is he?" Louis looks around.

"He's in a room right now. They're getting him back!" Val grabs Louis shoulders "Getting him back!? What do you mean by that?" Louis questions "He's dead!" I blurt out. "He....overdosed and we found him on the couch! Val and I thought he was sleeping, but he ......he had no heart beat, no pulse." I breathe out, the looks were questioning and mixed emotions.

They weren't used to me talking suddenly, luckily I already had taken my medication or else I would've been an even worse emotional train wreck, so I could take more pressure on the situation. My throat began to tighten, making me take a deep breath to relieve it, but my breathing was starting to shake, "He told me.....when I was here from the festival, he told me..." tears swelled up in my vision, "The first day he came to Middleton, after school he was planning on killing himself." "What?!" Louis' face dropped.

Louis was close to Travis, he was like his brother at the most.

"Travis had suicidal thoughts? I knew he had depression, but not this bad- to the point he would attempt it!"Val mutters.

"It's possible but we don't have confirmation, Travis could've accidentally overdosed!" Mel says.

"I just feel like ever since what happened at the carniv-" I begin.

"Diane don't beat yourself down. You two made up on that." Mel starts, "I know but-"

"Diane its all of my fault, I should've been more stricter on him instead of giving up on him. Our dad drinks a lot of wine- where he found it. But I wanted to break and bust every bottle up there, but I knew my dad would throw a violent fit, then more bottles would be hidden else-where....." Val's voice breaks.

Dr. Sanchez is violent? If he's violent and Travis has depression, then could he be abusing his own son and daughter?! No wonder Travis doesn't speak much about his dad, Dr. Sanchez is an abusive parent!

"You see where he is now? He doesn't give not one care about us" we all were talking, then went quiet for the next hour. The door opened, making me startle a bit. A dark-skinned man was there in a white lab coat, with a stethoscope around his neck, "Are you family or friends of Travis Sanchez?" he looks up.

"I'm his sister and they're his friends, mine as well" Val answers as we all stood up and went into the hall with him, his voice lowered a bit, "I'm Dr. Johnson, and I will be his doctor, its nice to meet you all" he shook our hands, "*Ahem*" he cleared his throat, "I'm very concerned about your friend, and brother. He's.....we had to pump a lot out."

"Pump what out?" Val asks curiously.

"Medication of some kind, by the weight, it seems like a whole bottle as well. But we also had to clear out his system of alcohol and such. He overdosed and, he's barely there. But I know this is going to be hard, but we need to have your permission, Ms. Sanchez to put your brother on life support."

"oh my gosh" I heard Mel mutter, Valeria's eyes, once full of hope were now dull. She paused, "...What?" the word passed between her lips."Life support? Couldn't CPR have done the job?"

"We did so but only resulted with a very faint pulse, he's barely clinging on. We're so far analyzing the medication...unless you know what it is?" he ends in question. "He takes medication for depression. It said on the bottle he wasn't supposed to drink any alcohol with it but-"

"Don't you get it Val? He was trying to kill him self!" Dominic blurted out, crossing his arms. Mel and I looked at him but said nothing, before Val said anything, I stopped it, "He has a point. If Travis did this  then what do you think he was doing beforehand? It was obvious he made attempts but failed!" I say to her, her head and facial expression dropped.

"She's right...." the doctor agrees with Dom and I. "Put him on it" her voice lowers.

"Alright will do so. I'll be right back but I would like to speak with you all privately when I come back."  he walks off. We all went back to the lobby, I was the first one in. I went to a sofa- like chair and curled up, bringing my knees to my chest. I was embraced from who I'm assuming Melanie. It was hard to keep in so many tears and emotions. I just wanted to see him again.

After about thirty minutes, Dr. Johnson came in, "Diane" I sat up to Louis' voice. "The reason I wanted to talk to you in private is because of the intensity of the situation. A nurse noticed bandages wrapped around both wrists of the patient. When we unwrapped the bandages, we saw cuts, fresh cuts, and other injuries that were in process of healing." he explains, "He's cutting too!?" Dominic asks surprisingly.

"We believe that the medication he is currently taking isn't working for him, since the alcohol is reversing the effects of it. We also found bits of other addictive drugs in his system here and there as well. What I'm trying to say here is, I believe your friend, and brother...." he eyes Val, ".... I believe he has a case of possible PTSD and severe depression. But even if he does recover, we can't let him out. He's a threat to himself and the environment is possibly a threat to his mental health as well. It could be more than this but we may have to recommend a psychologist to know more about this. Ms. Sanchez I'll need to talk to you privately as well." Val nods and follows out.
