"Em." Ashton started off as I watched my group of friends exit the mess hall.
"Don't worry about me, Ashton." I said attempting to strand up but almost immediately brought back down to my seated position.
"Why the hell won't you swim?" He asked running a hand through his brown-blonde hair.
I just looked everywhere but his eyes.
"Em, look at me when I talk to you." He said lightly pressing his fingers under my chin and facing my head towards him.
"Ashton, can we not talk about this now?" I asked politely and calm.
"Fine." He crossed his arms.
"We can talk about it on a walk to your cabin." He said grabbing my hand and pulling me up out of the mess hall.
We started walking. I didn't dare open my mouth.
"So, why won't you swim?" Ashton asked not letting go of my hand.
"I um..forgot my bathing suit..yeah that's all." I mumbled a pathetic excuse.
"Bullshit." He said turning to me.
"I saw that bikini in your suitcase the day we came to change your socks. It's all I've wanted to see you wear for two weeks." He laughed grabbing my hand continuing the walk.
"Oh fuck off." I said laughing and hitting his chest lightly.
"I'm serious though. And why not come swimming? It'll be one of the most fun times at camp." He said looking at me from the side.
"Oh god." He started off. "You're on your period, aren't you?" He looked at me with wide eyes.
"No, you dumbass." I said laughing a bit more than I should have.
"Well, go on. What is it?." He asked curiously.
"I just.." I trailed on. "I'm not all that comfortable with my body..that's all." I said lightly tracing patterns into his hands.
"Are you messing with me right now?" Ashton said walking up the stairs to my cabin. I didn't even realize we were there.
"No..why would I mess with you about that?" I questioned.
"It's just. Wow. It's fucking insane because we must have different perspectives or some voodoo shit."
"Well, sorry then." I said brushing him off, unlocking the room with my key.
I sat down on my bed having absolutely not intentions of getting my bathing suit from my bag.
Ashton on the other hand strode off to my suitcase rummaging through it and pulling out my white and rainbow bikini.
"Ash, put it back." I sighed.
"No." He said sticking out his bottom lip.
"Come swimming with us." He said taking my hands.
"I..I don't wa-want to." I said stumbling on my words.
His face was just inches away from mine and I could feel his breathing begin to pick up.
"Em." He leaned into my ear.
"Ash." I responded. My heart rate beginning to pick up pace and my hands to shake slightly still locked within his hands.
He leaned back. Still inches from my face.
His eyes flicked from my eyes to lips every few moments.
"God dammit, you're so fucking perfect." He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine.
And in that moment, I didn't give a shit about anything else except that boy.
Our lips moved in synch. His were soft and I could taste the slightest bit of mint he had popped into his mouth after lunch.
We only moved back every few seconds to take a breath only to reconnect.
He ran his long fingers through my blonde hair and suddenly dropped them to my waist.
I pulled away but only to stop him. Not that I wanted to. It's just, I was getting dizzy and my hands were still shaking.
"A-Ashton." I mumbled to him.
"God, I've wanted to do that for so long." He said smiling really big.
His lips were very red and swollen from being latched to mine for so long.
"Ashton." I repeated.
"Emma." He spoke.
"We shouldn't keep our friends waiting." We both smiled and I snatched the bathing suit from his hand.
