16 // goosebumps and lakes

I kicked Ashton out of my cabin so I could get changed.

It took me two minutes of lecturing and about 5 minutes for him to latch off of my arm.

"I'll be out in like two minutes." I said waving him off.

"Too long." He pouted.

"Then I'll change fast." I said turning away as he sat down on the stairs.

I looked in the mirror for a few seconds hesitating my choice to swim.

"Fuck it." I whispered to myself starting to remover my clothes replacing them with my bikini.

I had a dark blue cover up for swimming that went just above my knee paired with my flip flops.

I hopped out the door only to hit Ashton causing him to almost fall down the stairs.

"Oh shit! I'm so sorry." I said holding out my hand.

"It's fine. Clumsy is back I see." He said rubbing his arm where he seemed to have fallen on.

"Hold on, I forgot my towel." I mentioned opening up the door.

I had stuck my key in the lock only for Ashton to turn me around giving me a quick peck on the lips before entering my cabin.

I walked in the get the large brown towel from my suitcase. As I reached down, I noticed the goosebumps that littered up and down my arms.

"The things this boy does to me." I whispered.

After going to Ashton's cabin to get his trunks and towel, we finally made it to the lake.

We spotted our friends splashing around.

Calum and Laura were floating in the water while Hayley was still trying to get Michael out of the shade.

"I don't want to swim." He compiled.

"Bullshit. Everyone likes to swim. Either you come in the easy way or, I'm dragging your pale ass to the water." Everyone laughed at her comment.

Michael threw his hands up in defence and slowly buy surely made his way into the lake.

We obviously wouldn't be the only ones swimming but, it wasn't even that hot out so there wasn't that many people as there normally would.

There were about 6 teenage boys using the rope the swing into the lake and a younger teenage girl with her headphones in reading a book I've never seen before. She was up on some rocks and she wasn't even really facing our direction.

I was even more hesitant about swimming now than I was before.

"Em, c'mon." Ashton must've felt my negative vibe.

"I'm having second thoughts." I whispered.

"No, don't. You're beautiful. You have nothing to worry about. You are perfect to me and if anyone judges you for your perfect body, I'll kick their ass back to their house." He said giving me a smile.

I gave him a weak one in return.

Of course, Ashton was very confident with his body. He took off his shirt throwing it to the side along with his towel.

I only had a few seconds to react to his toned chest. It was a wonderful sight. I could tell he worked out.

He jumped right into the lake not even worrying about the temperature but, he soon regret it when he came up for air.

"Shit! It's kinda cold." He said giggling.

"Emma! Come in!" Laura yelled waving over to me.

All of my friends were smiling and having fun.

I shrugged my shoulders.

'Why not' I thought to myself removing my cover up and putting my towel to the side with my flip flops.

I jumped in- a similar way to Ashton. I mean, as long as I was under water, nobody could really see me.

I don't know what I was so scared of.

After a few hours of fun and a few of my friends almost drowning, I decided it was time for a break. I lifted myself out of the pool.

"Hey, look! It's Emma!" I heard a voice call from the side.

"Hey, look! It's Luke." I replied with a smile.

He eyed me up and down from far away.

"Pardon my stare. You just-you look great." He smirked.

I looked down and failed to realize I didn't cover up as soon as I got out.

I rushed to my towel wrapping it around me.

I turned back around to see Luke standing close behind.

"So, how has camp been so far?" He asked tilting his head.

"It's been great. I've met lot of new people and..I'm just having a good time." I smiled up at him.

"Excuse me." Ashton said approaching Luke and I going between us grabbing his towel.

"Well, I need to get going. We're trying out the archery for the first time. See you around?" Luke questioned.

"Yeah, I'll see you." I said giving a small smile.

He opened his arms for a huge so I sorta just walked forward so he could wrap his arms around me.

"Em! Why don't we get a snack or something?" Ashton interrupted with a grumpy look on his face.

"Yeah, I'm starving." I said walking back to him. He wrapped his arm around my waist and called to our group.

"Guys! We're gonna get some chips and stuff. Be back in like 20 maybe." Ashton called as I slipped on my blue cover up.

Dog whistles and moans came from the immature group behind us. I just gave my friends the finger and walked with Ashton clung to my side.

"I need to ask you something." He said facing me.

"Go ahead." I answered looking back at him.
