We laid together. No sounds, just pure quiet.

The movements were only the pads of his fingers tracing my temples and out chests heaving up and down, otherwise, it was quite still. The world around us seemed like it was devastatingly over and I had no idea what to do.

Obviously I was taking this too far. Maybe it was just me being me. When I'm with someone, my first fear is always that they'll leave me for someone better. I knew that Ashton deserved way better than me.

I knew it.

"What are you thinking about, baby?" Ashton replaced his fingers with his lips as he left tiny kisses all around my forehead. Headaches were always a pain but Ashton some how made them drift away. Not today unfortunately.

"Don't even worry about it." I sighed. One of his arms slung tightly around my waist and the other was now playing with the messy hair that I had careless and barley brushed out.

"Em, talk to me?" he looked up and made the corners of his lips rise blinking several times. He knew exactly what that look did.

"Well I mea-"

"That's the last of them." Hayley practically yelled barging into the cabin with Michael by her side. She tossed a bra carelessly into her messy and unorganized suitcase not really caring where it ended it.

"You're sure you're not missing anything?" Michael asked her assuringly.

"Yeah, mom, everything is packed up." She said rubbing a thin layer of sweat from the summer heat off of her forehead.

"Could you guys maybe keep it down? Get a room? Specifically not this one." Ashton said in a somewhat annoyed tone.

"Get a room? Get a room? Camp may be over but this is still my room, Irwin. We aren't even doing anything." Hayley said crossing her arms and throwing a harsh look at Ashton.

"Not yet we aren't." Michael reached over and grabbed her pulling her in for a sloppy kiss which made Ashton and I both turn away. Next thing we saw was his arm clung very hard around their waist walking out to who knows where.

"Christ, I though they'd never leave."

"What's bothering you?" Ashton looked at me again with those big hazel eyes.

"Don't look at me like that. You know exactly what it does." I sat sitting up and rubbing my eyes. I didn't even bother to put on makeup today.

"Look at you like what?" He said sitting up as well.

"Opening up your big pretty eyes and smirking. You know damn well it works on me but not today." I stood up only to be pulled back by my wrist as Ashton left a long kiss on my lips.

Walking forward, I tripped on Ashton's big ass shoes letting out a curse or two. I still haven't gotten my razor and body sponge out of the shower. Once I packed that up, everything was set. I officially had everything put away besides the phone on the bed and my Tom's sitting by the front door.

I moved the shitty curtains to see cars and vans of parents and my heart sank. Where the fuck was Hayley, Michael and Cal? I needed to see them before I left.

"Babe, come on." I said grabbing his hand slipping on my shoes. He did the same as he let me drag him out of the cabin.

"Is your mom here? Which car is it, baby?" Ashton asked curiously. He made it very obvious that he was excited to meet my mother. I was glad the feeling was mutual. I had stayed up late night talking and texting my mom about Ashton. I've sent photos and she practically wants us married already.

"She's not here. We're going to your cabin."

"For what?"

"Good-byes."

--

It resulted in all of us on Michael's bed talking about everything that happened this summer. I looked around and saw smiles and crinkles around eyes and I was happy. I was happy for making friends, happy for meeting Ashton and Calum and Michael and Hayley. So, so happy. I loved them so much.

A light knock on the door made our stomachs drop. Who was the first to go?

Hayley got up rubbing the side of her arm in nervousness to open the door. It revealed a somewhat tall woman with short black hair and deep, brown eyes, Calum's mother no doubt.

"Cal!" She screamed throwing her hands up and rushing towards the bed. Calum stood up and smiled bigger then I have ever seen him.

"Hi, mum. Missed you loads!" He said giving her a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"These" Calum pointed at all of us.

"Are my new best friends."

"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Hood." Michael stuck out his hand politely only for it to be pushed away and brought in for a hug. In fact, all of us were hugged.

Calum started to go on about us and talk about his awesome summer when his mom suddenly opened her eyes.

"Calum, your cousins should be arriving at our place any minute! We need to leave, sweetie." Once again, the pain in my stomach returned. I'd still see Calum. We all lived close and I was worrying about nothing. Our group had all exchanged numbers and planned to video chat with each other.

"Cal." Ashton said patting his back. "I'll miss you buddy." We all circled in for a final group hug letting the boy who was now our best friend go home to see his cousins from Australia. I had noticed a familiar blue van out the door and an awfully noticeable head of blonde hair.

Mom was here!

I quickly rushed over to her practically knocking her down with how hard I squeezed her.

"Mom! I missed you so much!" I said into her shoulder. I did miss her, honestly. It felt good to be by her side.

"Emma, I missed you too! This summer was too damn hard without you." She hummed back.

A cough rang from behind.

Ashton smiled to my mom which she quickly returned. He stepped forward with his hand out and in a similar way to Calum's mother, my mom pushed his hand away and hugged him. He gladly hugged back and giggled.

"I guess it's finally time I formally introduce myself. I'm Ashton, Ashton Irwin." he smiled fondly.
