“Not only did you kidna overcome your fear of heights and flying you enjoyed an incredible experience!” Niall defends, using hand gestures to get his point across.
“Okay, okay I surrender.” I put my arms up in defeat.
Here we were sat in a diner having a yelling match, though it had been going on for about 15 minutes, nothing had been resolved yet. It was time for it to come to an end, even if that meant Niall would get away with it.
Harry chuckles to my right. He always found mine and Niall’s bickering absolutely hilarious, I would like to see a replay of one of our fights one day, perhaps we could film it.
There was certainly no denying it. The skydiving was one of the most amazing and crazy thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. To see the world from such a different perspective, a bird’s perspective. I indeed in those moments felt like I was on top of the world, I felt exhilarated and exceedingly free. Flying was something I’d wished for when I was younger. I had wished and wished for the ability to fly and to this day, well up until a few hours ago I had never been able to even semi get the experience.
I had a good feeling, I felt like I was glowing purely because I felt independent, I treasured my independents and never before have a felt this enormous amount of it.
How was I going to commemorate this moment? Then it hit me.
“I’m going to get a tattoo.” Niall chokes out a laugh.
“Yeah, whatever Eva.” What? He didn’t think I would? I have always spoken about wanting to get one, but I’ve never known what to get that would show the significants it needed. But this sufficed. It was the perfect idea. Not only would it show a memory, I could also show how free I felt in the moment. It clicked, Birds. I felt like a bird up there, they fly, they’re free.
“I’m dead serious, and I need to do it soon before I change my mind.” I didn’t think I would actually change my mind; I was being very serious about this. I was going to do it.
“Are you insane? What has brought this up?” Niall says at the same time Harrys says
“I’ll get one with you.” My eyes tinkled at him. Harry was no stranger when it came to tattoos, him just being there would probably give me a lot of confidence. Harry actually getting one with me would make the experience much better.
“Don’t encourage this Harry!” Niall says to Harry.
“Really?” I shriek, Harry grins.
“Eva have you even thought this through?” Niall was not at all keen about me getting a tattoo.
“Niall please calm down, it’s not going to be anything too huge, just something small and significant.”
“And that would be….?”
I didn’t exactly know exactly but it wouldn’t be anything to detailed. I rummaged through my hand bag in search of a pen.
I pulled one out and then started to draw on my napkin. I draw three lines like shapes, adding thickness, and beaks forming them into flying birds. Three because one representented me, one represented Niall and the other represented Harry. I finish the drawing, pleased with what I have come up with.
I look to my right and Harry is staring at the napkin and nods his head in approval.
“Really?” I ask again.
“Yes, let’s go do it as soon as possible.”’
“Niall you have to do this with us, it was your idea after all!” It would be so amazing for the three of us to all have a matching tattoo, to remember a time that was so special to us.
