Like most average teenagers, Y/n was rebellious. Ruby considered it healthy since it helps them grow to understand more things, while Sapphire considered it bad since she refuses to listen to either of them.
"Y/n, you must learn, it's not okay to ignore your parents." Sapphire said. Y/n scoffed.
"Whatever." She muttered.
"C'mon, Sapphire, just leave her alone. She doesn't hate us or anything, she's just going through a phase." Ruby said.
"It's not a phase, Mom!" Y/n yelled.
"You don't yell at me like that!" Ruby shouted. Sapphire placed a hand on her shoulder.
"You were saying?" Ruby just crossed her arms.
"Okay, whatever..." She muttered. Sapphire turned to Y/n, who was pulling on a book bag.
"Y/n, school is out. Where are you going?" She asked even though she pretty much knew.
"Out with some friends. Why?" Y/n said.
"You're not going. You're grounded." Sapphire said. Y/n's eyes widened.
"What?! You can't make me stay here! My friends are expecting me!" She exclaimed.
"You heard your mother! You're staying here! Go to your room!" Ruby said as she pointed to Y/n's door. Y/n groaned in annoyance as she walked to her room. She slammed the door shut.
"Ruby, I need to go get groceries. We're going to run out in a few days if I don't. Please watch Y/n." Sapphire said.
"All right, just be careful, okay?" Ruby said. Sapphire laughed a bit.
"What could possibly happen while I'm grocery shopping?" She said as she kissed Ruby's cheek.
"I don't know! You're supposed to be the one who knows that stuff!" Ruby exclaimed. Sapphire giggled.
"I know, I know. I'll see you soon." Sapphire said as she walked outside.
"See ya when you get home!" Ruby waved. Once Sapphire was gone, Ruby looked at Y/n's door. She walked up to it. "Y/n?" Ruby knocked on the door. Instead of Y/n answering, she was instead answered with the volume of Y/n's rock music being turned up.
Ruby sighed, knowing she wasn't going to answer. She walked away, going to watch some tv to pass the time.
About an hour later, Ruby knew she would have to check on Y/n. She walked up to the door and knocked. The music was still being blasted.
"Y/n, you gotta answer." Ruby said. There was nothing. Ruby sighed once more. "C'mon, Y/n. Open the door." Still nothing. "Y/n?"
After that, Ruby knew something was up. Either she was asleep, or what she thought had happened, happened.
Ruby kicked the door open and rushed inside. The room was empty. Ruby pressed the off button on her music player, shutting it off. She saw that her window was wide open.
"Oh, no! I gotta get Sapphire!" Ruby rushed into the living room and grabbed the phone. Although they knew how to use it, it was for emergencies only.
Ruby dialed the number meant for the phone Sapphire kept with her, and waited for her to answer. As soon as she answered, Ruby heard,
"I'm on my way." And with that, Sapphire hung up.
Ruby paced around, waiting for Sapphire to come home. In under ten minutes, she was already there.
"We need to find Y/n. Come on." Sapphire grabbed Ruby's hand and rushed outside.
They walked down the road, looking around for Y/n. It was dark out, and lots of cars were still passing by.
"Where do you think she went?" Ruby asked.
"She most likely snuck out to see her friends. They're probably at the old storage unit they hang out at." Sapphire said.
As they were walking, they heard a voice talking from the other side of the road.
"Yeah, I know. I'll be there in a few. My moms wouldn't let me leave." The familiar voice of Y/n said. Ruby gasped.
"Y/n!" She shouted. Y/n turned around and saw the two across the road, not far behind her.
"Oh, crap, I gotta go. I'll see you later." Y/n said as she hung up the phone. She then turned and ran. Ruby gasped once again.
"She's running from us!" She exclaimed.
"Yes, but she will not get away. Don't worry." Sapphire said. She ran down the sidewalk, going much faster than Y/n. They leaped across the road, using Sapphire's floating powers to stay in the air.
"Huh, you must really want to catch her." Ruby said.
"I'll use my powers if necessary. Now come on." Sapphire said. The two chased Y/n down the road, quickly catching up with her. Y/n looked back at them and gasped. She suddenly tripped and fell, landing in the road. She saw a car coming towards her.
She shielded her face with her arms even though it was useless. Just as the car was about to hit her, Ruby and Sapphire pulled her onto the sidewalk.
"Oh, my stars, I thought I was gonna lose my baby!" Ruby cried as she hugged Y/n tightly.
"I was quite scared too. I couldn't tell if you were going to live or not." Sapphire said as she hugged Y/n, too. Y/n wrapped her arms around them.
"I'm sorry I ran off. I just wanted to go hang out with my friends. Now I'm in even more trouble..." Y/n said. Ruby pulled away.
"You're darn right you are! You almost died!" She exclaimed. Sapphire laughed a bit.
"Okay, but not too much trouble. Going to see your friends is healthy, as long as they aren't bad friends." Sapphire said.
"Which reminds me, did your friends teach you that rebellious personality of yours?" Ruby asked. Y/n sighed.
"I... I guess they took part in it. They act worse than me." Y/n said.
"They aren't good friends. You need real friends. Like..." Sapphire trailed off.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Ruby asked Sapphire. Sapphire nodded. "Y/n, there's someone we'd like you to meet..."
~~~
"Meet Steven!" Ruby smiled as she gestured to the tall man. He was probably twice as old as Y/n. "He was the first child we raised!"
"Hi there, Y/n! I've heard a lot about you." Steven said as he stuck his hand out for Y/n. Y/n took it and shook it a bit, unsure of him.
"My moms raised you first? Wouldn't that make you, like... My brother?" Y/n asked. Steven smiled.
"I guess it would." He said. Y/n smiled.
"Cool. C'mon, I wanna show you my room." Y/n said as she led Steven away. Ruby and Sapphire watched, both smiling.
"We should've done this a long time ago." Ruby said.
"Definitely." Sapphire agreed as they wrapped their arms around each other. "At least now she has a real friend..."
Was this one any good? I feel like I could've done better. I still like it, but I think I could've written it better.
