This one is gonna be a lot shorter than usual but whatever.
Amethyst sat in Steven's bed, playing his videos games when she heard the screen door open. She looked down the steps and noticed Steven was walking in. He held someone's hand as he carefully helped them inside. He led them over to the sofa and sat them down.
"There we go. Now you wait here." Steven said. He noticed Amethyst. "Amethyst, come keep Y/n company. I'm trying to find some stuff I though Y/n might like."
"All right." Amethyst jumped up from the bed and walked down the stairs. She got a good look at the kid. They had h/l h/c hair, wore a black hoodie and blue jeans.
"Hi." The girl waved, but not towards Amethyst. She wasn't waving towards anyone.
"I'm over here." Amethyst laughed, thinking the kid was just being silly. They turned towards Amethyst, still a bit off but close enough. Amethyst sat down next to her. "Name's Amethyst." She stuck out her hand for the girl to take. She didn't take it.
"My name's Y/n. It's nice to meet you, Amethyst." She said. Amethyst raised an eyebrow.
"What, are you nervous or something?" She asked.
"A-A little." Y/n stuttered, smiling a bit. Amethyst chuckled.
"No need to be. I'm cool. Anyways, where'd you come from?" She asked as she leaned back. Y/n didn't even notice.
"Empire City. My mom wanted to get away from the big city, so we moved here." Y/n said.
"Huh. Empire City. That place is pretty big, isn't it?" Amethyst asked. Y/n shrugged.
"I wouldn't know. My mom says it's big, but I don't know." Y/n said. Amethyst raised an eyebrow, confused.
"But you just said you lived there." She said.
"I did. But I couldn't see it. I can't see anything. I'm blind." Y/n said. Amethyst's eyes widened.
"Oh, my stars. I didn't know. I didn't offend you or anything, did I?" Amethyst asked. Y/n shook her head.
"No. Why would you have offended me?" She asked.
"I just didn't realize you were blind and might have said something that bothered you." Amethyst said. Y/n reached her hand out, waiting for Amethyst to take it. She grabbed it and held it tightly.
"It's okay. You didn't make me upset. You didn't know because I didn't tell you. I don't like starting off conversations right away with 'I'm blind'. I want to start a conversation off without weirding anyone out." Y/n said.
"Well, you didn't weird me out." Amethyst said. Y/n smiled as laughed a bit.
"I'm glad." She said.
They were silent for a moment, Amethyst thinking of what to say next. After she finally came up with something, she spoke up.
"Y/n? Do you know was defective means?" Amethyst asked. Y/n smiled.
"Of course I do, I'm not a baby." She said.
"Do you consider yourself defective?" Amethyst asked. Y/n's smile disappeared. She sighed.
"I guess I would technically be defective since I'm not capable of doing everything everyone else can." She said.
"Well... I'm defective, too. I'm not like what I supposed to be. I'm small and weak compared to what I was supposed to be like." Amethyst said. Y/n rubbed her hand in an affectionate way.
"Oh, Amethyst, I'm sure you're not weak. You're strong in your own special way that nobody can beat. You should love yourself for that." Y/n said. Amethyst smiled.
"And I guess you're strong in your own ways, too, Y/n. You just have yet to find those ways. But I'll help you. I'll make sure you find your strengths." She said as she wrapped an arm around Y/n's shoulder.
"Thanks, Amethyst. I appreciate it." Y/n said. She leaned on Amethyst's shoulder. Amethyst smiled and held her close.
"You're pretty cool, Y/n." Amethyst said.
"You're pretty cool, too, Amethyst." Y/n said back, smiling.
