Chapter 3: They Broke Up

I sped up and opened the door. I then speed walked to my car. I don't really know why. I just did.

"Y/N!" David yelled.

I turned around. He was running out of the house. With no camera luckily.

"I'm sorry if I made you feel- awkward." He said.

"Um, a little." I said being honest, but chuckling a bit to lighten the mood.

"Sorry" He said.

"David?" I said.

"Yeah?"

"What's with you and Liza?"

He instantly looked scared and sad. I could tell that he was surprised that I asked.

"Well," He said straightening his hat.

"Liza and I broke up."

My jaw dropped.

"Why? When?" I asked.

"Not long after you got here." He said looking down at the ground.

"Was it-" I swallowed.

"Because of me?" I asked.

"No, no, no, no. Absolutely not. We just felt like we needed to be on our own. We both have so much going on. We just don't want to be holding the other back." He looked up at me. His cheeks were stained with tears.

"Oh my gosh, David." I said walking forward and hugging him.

Tears began to fall from my eyes. I silently cried as I comforted David. I loved both him and Liza, and it broke my heart that this had happened to them. I knew that I would need to talk to Liza, but my focus was on David right now.

"Y/N?" He sniffled.

"Yeah?"

"Thank you." He said.

"No problem. I'll always be here for you."

We pulled apart from the hug. He saw that I was crying.

"Please don't cry." He said.

"It's kinda hard not to cry when you're watching your best friend's heart break." I said as a tear fell down my cheek.

David wiped it away with his thumb.

"Am I first person you told?" I asked.

"Yeah, please don't tell anyone." He said.

"Do you really think that I would do that to you?" I asked.

"No" He said smiling.

"Can I talk to Liza about it?" I asked.

"Yeah, if she gets mad, it'll be at me."

"She won't." I said.

"I better get going, but-" I started.

"But what?" He asked.

"I- don't tear yourself down because of this. I've seen people do that, and I doesn't end well. I can't see that happen to you." I said as my heart broke just imagining it.

"I won't. See you later I guess?" He said chuckling and wiping a tear away.

"See you later." I said smiling.

I turned around and walked to my car.
