CHAPTER 22

Bradley's POV:

Chris knows that I let Ava and Hunter out of the basement and I can see the Devil in his eyes. "What do you mean?" I pretend that I don't know what he's talking about. "Don't act stupid! Why don't you try to use the pretty little brain of yours for once?" Chris yells.

"I still don't know what you're talking about." I lie. He laughs and then suddenly he punches me in the stomach causing me to gasp for air.

"Brennen!" Chris shouts. I see a guy walk in. He has tanned skin, dark brown hair and green eyes. Brennan walks over to me and helps me up. "Hey I'm Brennen." he says with a smile. "I'm-" I'm cut off when he pushes me against the wall causing me to be airless once again.

He starts punching me violently. I managed to punch him back a few times. "That's enough for now Brennan." Chris says. My lip is bleeding and I think my nose is broken. "Yes boss." he replies with a smile.

Boss?

Chris replaced me? I know we hate me each other but still replace me that hurts.

"I knew I was going to have this conversation with you when it happened so here it goes." What? When what happened? What is he talking about?

"Do you remember all those years ago when I told you your mother is missing? Yeah well she's not missing, she's dead." Chris flatly says. "No she's not! How can you say something like that?" I yell angrily. "Because I fucking killed her Bradley!" he snaps.

What?

This is the exact moment when my anger turned into sadness. All I want to do right now is cry and scream because it's killing me inside. Why doesn't he just kill me too? I know he wants to. Maybe death hurts less than life does right now.

I can't believe he could do something like that. He used to love her so much. I mean isn't that why you marry someone? "I'm not surprised you haven't figured it out yet. You are as dumb as a rock." Chris says laughing, Brennen also starts laughing.

"You know what to do Brennan." Chris says. He immediately starts punching me again. I swing one more punch at him causing his nose to start bleeding. "Ow that hurt." he says with a smile. Oh sure I'm the dumb one.

"My turn to have fun." Chris is pushing Brennan away.

Fuck...

Tessa's POV:

"Because I fucking killed her!" We hear Chris shout. I can see that started Hunter.

Shit.

Gemma.

Did he kill Gemma? Minutes later we hear a gunshot. It made me jump. Now I'm getting scared. After the gunshot everything became quiet.

Too quiet.

"Hunter I'm scared." I cry. "It's ok Tessa I won't let him hurt you. I promise." he says wrapping his arm around me.

Hunter's POV:

"Hunter I'm scared." Tessa says with glossy eyes. "I won't let him hurt you. I promise." I say while wrapping my arm around her. She starts crying into my chest.

I tighten my arm around her. Suddenly the door handle starts rattling and the door swings open. It's Chris.

Fuck.

All I do if tighten my grip on Tessa I mean what else can I do? "Hello guys." Chris says smiling. Me and says nothing. He starts walking over to us while talking something out of the back pocket of his jeans. It's the keys.

There is another guy in the room with us and it's not Bradley. He's a little shorter than the Bradley he has tanned skin and green eyes. He is wearing all black with white sneakers.

"Brennen make sure they don't try to run." Chris says while unlocking the handcuffs. Brennen has a really tight grip on our wrists. "We're going for a ride." Chris says smiling.

What?

Where are we going?

Where is Bradley?

Tessa's POV:

"We're going for a ride." Chris says smiling. Brendan or whatever his name is is hurting my wrist. Who is he anyways? What is he doing here and where is Bradley? Chris whispers something to Brandon but I can't make out with Chris is saying to him. Both of them have an evil smile on their face.

What did he say?

Chris walks out of the room and Brennen drags us along with him.

"Where are we you taking us?" I ask while trying to stay on my feet. "Shut up!" Brennan yells as we enter the living room. The first thing I see is the splash of dark red liquid on the all-white wall.

Is that what I think it is?

It can't be. I noticed something... someone lying face down on the floor.

Fuck...

It's Bradley... no... how could this happen? How can Chris do something like this? Bradley is... was his stepson. What kind of man kills his own stepson? I know they hated each other but he didn't deserve to die because of that. I know Bradley helped Chris kidnap us but I got to know him these past two days and I learnt that he's actually a very nice guy.

He was a nice guy.

If this is what Chris does to his own family? Someone he has known for years and speaked to everyday. Just imagine what he could do to us. I can see Hunter is thinking the same thing because his eyes are watery and he's a little shaky.

Brennan drags us out the front door. He opens up the back door of a black fan which is funny because apparently black fans are perfect if you plan on kidnapping someone.

"Get in!" Brennen shouts. He suddenly pulls out a gun and points it towards Hunter and I. "Make it snappy!" he spits. We do what he tells us to do. Chris is already in the driver seat and Brennan is sitting in the back of the fan with us.

Immediately after Brennan slam the door shut the car's engine turns on. The gun is still in Brennan's hand and his fingers are inches away from the trigger. I still can't believe Chris killed Bradley. He killed his own stepson. What kind of monster does that?

At the beginning of all this I still had some hope deep down inside of me that we are getting out of the safely but now I'm not so sure anymore. Seeing Bradley lay on the floor covered in his own blood made my eyes go open. It made me realize that we are definitely not getting out of this alive unless some kind of miracle happens and what are the chances of that happening?
