Chapter Eight

Ivory almost stayed awake the whole night, can't even bare to close her eyes for too long. She was deeply afraid about what it seems to be a threat to her life.

She called 911 last night and some police officers came by. They checked the building's vicinity to see if there was something suspicious, but they didn't find anything at all.

They told her that they will conduct an investigation to know who sent that package. They will review some CCTV's on that party and they will get back to her if they find some information about her case.

Tinawagan na din niya ang manager niya kaya't sinabihan siya na huwag na muna siyang lumabas ngayong araw para sa kanyang kaligtasan.

Dahil hindi siya mapalagay ay tinawagan niya ang Security Agency kung saan nagtatrabaho ang kakambal niyang si Avery. Alam niyang nasa isang misyon ito kaya't hindi niya maaaring hingin ang serbisyo at tulong nito kaya't ang boss nilang si Chief ang kinausap niya. Magpapadala na lang daw ito ng isang magaling na agent kaya't huwag na daw siyang mabahala.

Naghihintay siya sa pagdating ng agent na ipinadala ng ahensiya ng S.I.A.T.T. nang maisipan niyang tawagan ang kakambal.

"Yes Twinnie?" Bungad nito sa kabilang linya.

"Avi..." Hindi niya napigilan ang kaba sa kanyang boses.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Tanong nito, marahil ay nagtaka sa kanyang kakaibang tono.

"Ahmm... Something happened.. I received a package last night. It was a doll with a broken face."

"What? Who would sent you something like that?" Tumaas ng bahagya ang boses nito.

"I-I don't know!" She was stammering. "The doll was creepy, but what really freaked me out was the message that comes with it." Nanginginig na sabi niya.

"What was it? What's the message?"

"It says... Soon, you will look like this doll... because it will be your face I'm gonna smash next time!"

Kinalibutan siya sa sariling kwento. Naalala na naman niya ang itsura ng manyika.

"What the heck? Who the hell would sent you those message? Who wants to hurt you, Ivy?"

"I really don't know, Avi. But this really scares the shit out of me!" Hindi na niya itinago ang totoong nararamdaman.

"Have you reported it to the police? Anong sabi nila?"

"I did. Some officers came by last night, they checked the surroundings and saw no one. They are still investigating my case, but I was really scared so I called your headquarters and asked for help. I know you are still in a mission so I cannot ask for your service. Chief told me that he'll send someone today."

"I'm sorry that I can't be there now that you need me."

She can sense her twin's frustration with regards to their situation right now.

"It's okay sis, I'll be fine. Siguro naman magaling din gaya mo ang ipapadala ng agency mo diba? Kaya huwag ka na mag-alala pa, matatapos rin ito at mahuhuli rin ang nananakot sa akin." Pagkumbinsi niya rito.

Hindi na lang niya sasabihin ang mga nangyari pa noong nakaraan dahil ayaw niyang bigyan pa ng alalahanin ang kapatid.

"Okay, just call me from time to time and update me about your situation. Sabihan mo din ako kapag dumating na ang kung sinong agent na ipapadala sayo para makausap ko. I hope that the one they have sent comes from my team. Coz I know that it will be someone capable and I could trust." Seryosong wika nito.
