Did I just hear what I thought I heard? Taii's... Adopted..? Oh my God....

I looked at Taii's face and saw anger, fear, sadness, and rage.

"So you let this chump beat me like a fuckin' rag doll for 10 years and now you tellin me that he ain't got no relationship to me?" Taii says in a growl.

"Chump?!" Cedric says

"Yeah, chump!" Taii shouts back.

"Tailand honey, I didn't know how-"

"Don't even try that shit with me ma....lady, you were in the hallway, sitting by the door listening while he slapped me around in that room." Taii says pointing to a room right off the hallway corner.

I look at her and I see tears falling from her eyes, "I'm soo sorry Taii," She says bawling.

"Don't say sorry to him Mama, he deserved it, he ain't nuthin' anyway." Shayla says.

That's it, That right there pushed me right off the edge, I got pissed. It's enough to hear that you were adopted and have a family that you aren't related to treat you like shit.

I turned my head fast.

"A'ight, look here." I said speaking up and everyone turning to look at me.

"I've heard enough of this, you done had enough of putting Taii down. Ya'll is something else, first you beat an adopted child, treat him like an outcast, not even welcoming him into the family. He ain't get no love, no lessons, ya'll say he ain't shit because ya'll ain't give him the chance to be something. All ya'll did was break him down!"

"Bitch shut yo ass up!" Cedric says

All of a sudden, Taii punches him in the face.

"Don't you ever talk to her like that!" Taii says standing over him.

Cedric falls to the floor coughing hard, running out of breath.

"Cedric." Marie says running to his side crying.

"Get away from him... I'm not done.." Taii says with rage in his eyes.

Cedric looks up at him, fear in his eyes.

"No, no please don't!" Marie says putting her hands out.

Cedrick coughs up blood and It spats on the floor.

Everyone becomes shocked.

"Look what you did, tryna fight, you know he too sick for that!" Uncle Reggie says.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Taii says

"He has... lung cancer..!" She says sobbing.

"What?" "What?" "What?" everyone says in shock. I look around to see Reggie, Taiwan, and Grand-ma Maysie.

I look at Taii and he just stands there with an unreadable face expression on his face.

"Mom, are you serious?" Shayla says and I look at her

"Auntie, for real?" Terrel says

Jason puts his hands on his head... "Damn"

I can honestly say that I don't care what happens to this man...whatever he gets, he deserves it..

I look back at Taii who's still standing over him like he's debating whether he should beat his ass or not.

I need to get him out of here before he does something that he will regret.
