Renée's P. O. V.

Daniel and I were sitting across from each other, playing go fish. Squirt was laying next to me, his head on my leg.

"Got any twos?" Daniel asked, pushing his lips out as he said it.

"Go fish."

"Psh," he scoffed and drew a card.

"Got any...sevens?" I asked. He looked at his cards then looked back at me, sending me a playful glare.

"I can't believe you," he said, handing me two sevens. I chuckled and bit my lip, placing the four sevens down onto the bed.

"Sorry, go fish is my game." I chuckled.

"Really?" He asked. I nodded.

"Then I guess it'll just be that much sweeter when I beat you. Got any eights?"

I looked at my cards then looked at him, my jaw dropping.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, got any eights?"

"Yeah, yeah I do," I said quietly handing him my three eights.

"Thank you!" He chuckled and put the eights down.

We continued the game, playfully arguing back and forth. Eventually we got to the very end, and Daniel had won.

"I told you!" He exclaimed.

"Oh shut up." I chuckled.

"I won! Haha you lose!" He leaned over and stared tickling my sides.

"Dan-Daniel stop!" I screeched, reaching for his arms. He held my wrists and tickled all over me.

"No stop!" I yelled. He pushed me back on the bed and hovered over me, tickling my sides. I was gasping for air, screaming and laughing.

"That's what you get for trash talking," he said, laughing above me. He looked into my eyes and smiled. This is it.

I put my hand on his neck and he slowly started leaning in, looking up and down from my lip to my eyes.

Then Daniel's phone rang.

He closed his eyes and sighed, getting off of me to answer his phone.

"Hello?...hey mom...yeah, we're in a hotel in Columbus...we'll just drive straight to Springfield when the snow lets up...yeah, she's doing good we were just playing some cards...yeah, I'll talk to you later...love you too, bye." He hung up.

"She was just worried about the snow," he said.

"Yeah, I get it. My mom texted me earlier."

"Have y'all been talking?"

"Yeah, a little each day. Mostly just like how are you and stuff. I don't know." I shrugged.
