Renée's P. O. V.
My plane just landed, so I hurried off the plane and grabbed my bags. It was cold and rainy outside when I went to get a cab.
Once I got to the ArtHouse, I first went to check my mail. I got my normal bills and everything, and a letter from my dad. I went up to my studio and dropped everything to rip it open and read it.
Inside was the letter, and a check with what seemed like all the money that my dad had. I opened the letter and read it.
Renée,
I'm so sorry I haven't tried to talk to you before now. Although, I'm sure if I had you wouldn't have answered, and I could never blame you. I know I have been a terrible father. You deserved a much better life than what you received, and I'm so deeply sorry.
The first thing I'd like to say, is that I'm so so proud of you Renée. You've become something so amazing. After the life you've had, that would seem impossible. But you did, and I'm so proud of you. I wish I could see your art and your photos. I'm just so proud of you.
For the last few years, I've been dealing with some health issues. I have liver cancer, that's now reached stage four. I know, I was an idiot for continuing to drink after I had been diagnosed. But they sent me home and my addiction got worse. I needed it, as everyone alcoholic does.
Ever since you left, I've worked so hard on trying to stop. And I've definitely gotten a lot better. But it didn't stop the cancer. I've sent you all the money that I had after paying out my full medical bills. Use the money for whatever you'd like, just please don't follow in my footsteps.
After reading this, you might not care. I could've hurt you so much that you wouldn't care, and I would understand. But I hope that you'll come visit sometime before I pass, I know I don't have much time left. It would mean so much if you would come so we could try to work our issues out.
I'm very proud of you Renée. I love you so much.
-dad.
I set the letter down and wiped my teary eyes.
I went into my room and dumped out my suitcase and my backpack. I would not need all my warm clothes in Miami.
My flight for Miami didn't leave until five, so I figured I'd take a quick nap before I packed again.
Sunday | 3:20 a.m.
My alarm went off so I rolled out of bed and took a quick shower to wake myself up. I out on leggings and one of Daniel's sweatshirts, then started packing again.
I packed a couple weeks worth of clothes and restocked all of my toiletry stuff. I put in my camera and laptop and anything else I needed. Then I decided to grab the photo album I had made of all the pictures I'd taken to show my dad.
Once I triple checked all of my bags, I put my shoes on and got all of my stuff to go back to the airport.
I got though security quickly and got a quick snack at Starbucks, then headed towards my gate.
