Renée's P. O. V.

I woke up, snuggled into Daniel in an uncomfortable plane seat. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, hearing the flight attendants speaking about the landing procedures.

"Babe, wake up," I whispered into Daniel's ear. Zach was on the other side of me so I gently shook him awake.

"We're landing," I said when he looked at me in confusion.

Once we landed, we grabbed our bags and headed out of the gate toward baggage claim.

"My mom's over there," Daniel said. My bag had come but he was still waiting on his. I nodded and walked in that direction, soon spotting Keri.

"Renée," she said.

"Hey mom." I smiled. We had gotten so close, she insisted that I call her mom.

I let go of my suitcase and wrapped my arms around her, feeling her rub my back.

"How you doing?" She asked.

"I'm okay." I sighed. I pulled away and she kept her hands on my arms, rubbing up and down.

"You're staying at my house tonight, so we'll talk later," she told me.

"Okay." Zach and Daniel soon walked up to us, hugging Keri.

We started walking out to Keri's car, Zach climbing into the front seat so Daniel and I could sit together.

I held his hand and leaned my head on his shoulder, closing my eyes. I ended up falling asleep again.

I was woken up by Daniel as we were pulling into the driveway. He kissed my forehead and rubbed the back of my hand.

We got out of the car and took our bags inside, going up to Daniel's room. Zach went to the guest bedroom.

"Do you wanna shower?" Daniel asked. I sat on the edge of the bed.

"You can shower first, I'm gonna go talk to your mom," I told him. He nodded and sat down next to me. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and leaned in to kiss me. I held his cheek as our lips moved I sync.

I heard jingling from down the hallway and soon Squirt was jumping into my lap. I smiled and let him, letting him lick all over my face.

Daniel got up and went to the bathroom, so I held Squirt and took him into the living room. Keri was making two cups of hot chocolate for us, so I sat on the couch.

"So how'd the funeral go?" She asked.

"It was hard. There weren't a lot of people there, so that was good. But Haleigh read these letters that my dad had wrote while I was growing up and...I don't know it's just a lot to comprehend." I shrugged.

"What'd he write about?"

"They were letters to my mom. About how I was growing up without her and how he was a terrible father and he knew that but he couldn't stop drinking. I have them in my bag...I don't know it's all just... a lot."
