Closer To Heaven

Your smile is a beaming sun
your laughter a sweet melody
I think i'll never get tired or wanna stop hearing
all the silly things that you tell me
Your eyes are twinkling stars
its hard to think they came from me
you'll always have a place here in this chair
resting your head against me.

And I'm a little bit closer to Heaven
any time I make you smile
I'll find some way, to make you crack
even if it's been a while
You're worth every try, and every attempt
and every extra mile.

You're growing up way too fast
and i'm trying to find a way
to keep things just like they are
but i know i have no say.
So please never change who are you
the you that's deep inside
for you're made for a purpose that goes even deeper
and that purpose must never hide.

And I'm a little bit closer to Heaven
any time I'm with you.
I'll hold you close and never hold back
even though our time is few.
You're worth it all and I'll never fall
no matter what I have to go through.

Please always know, you're a gift from God
a priceless treasure to be adored
I never wanna give reason for you to think
that you're worthy of being ignored
You're always loved unconditionally
no matter how you may view it
so I'll do everything, all that I can
so you can say that you knew it.

And I'm a little bit closer to Heaven
any time I make you feel loved.
I'll always be proud and be sure to say
because this world can be so tough.
You're worth every piece of my heart that I share
I'll be sure that you have more than enough.
