Amy opens her eyes slowly. Multiple colors flood her vision and she shuts her eyes tight again.
"Too many colors..." Amy mumbles in annoyance as she pulls the white sheets over her head.
"She's okay!" Quill cries out in relief, her brown hair messy and her brown eyes happy. "Amy Burns Powers, please don't scare us like that!"
Amy opens one green eye to see everyone crowded around her. She opens her other eye then sighs loudly.
"Sorry...Katso...he..." Amy holds her head, her red hair a mess. "He turned to dust like Wysteria...but he was going to say something...something about who revived him and who that mage works with and what they wanted with the teens..."
The adults all look grim while the teens look around questioningly. The teens eventually give up on any answers coming their way.
"Coach, you had us scared!" Alex sobs, his left blue and right brown eyes shine with tears. Golden specks noticeable as he wipes his eyes and pushes back his golden curls. His freckles wet from the tears.
"We're so glad you're okay!" Ava adds on, tears streaming down her face just like Alex. Her hazel eyes full of emotion as she ties her silver bow on her strawberry blonde hair.
"C'mon, I'm the most badass mage ever," Amy grins. "You guys had me worried. Oh, Ava's neck..."
"It's okay," Ava points to the scar on her neck. "Katso bandaged it for me while we were there, so it's okay now."
"Red," Amy looks over to see that the other hospital bed has her older brother on it. The male has bandages over his stab wound too. There are even magic bandages for his magic wounds that cover the tattoo he got for his parents, their hero symbols. His dirty blond hair a mess and his red-brown eyes tired. "My gosh, what happened to you?"
"Madison..." Red chuckles nervously before stopping because his stomach hurt. "She doesn't change...but I stopped her. And can I please wear a shirt?"
"She better not escape now," Scott grumbles in annoyance, his blue frames pushed up by his finger. His blue-brown eyes focused on his siblings as he fixes his dirty blond hair. "She's caused enough trouble for a lifetime."
"I agree. Also, stop ending up in the hospital you two!" Ku cries out. "Do you know how scared I was?! First Red comes back all bloody and injuried and then you fall from the sky injured and bloody as well!"
"In short, you guys gave him a heart attack," Brenton clarifies, his amber eyes as worried as Ku's while he hastily fixes his red spikes. "And I think I almost had one too? like jeez...this life is not easy."
"No one ever said it was," Sasha nods, agreeing, her purple eyes sharing concern like the others as she tucks the long strand of black hair behind her ear. "But I think we can all agree that it's been a long day."
"Duh," Owen crosses his arms, his brown-black hair loose and his green-brown eyes worried. "We should let Coach and Red rest."
"Yeah, crowding their hospital room isn't exactly giving them space," Urana waves her finger around to gesture to the room. It's big, but still. Her ocean blue eyes study the room as she pushes her wavy, black hair back.
"You guys can stay," Amy sits up, finding it difficult with her wounds. "And my back is really stiff..."
"It must be, we all saw Katso slash your back," Sasha sympathetically says. "How are your wings?"
"They're okay thankfully," Amy sighs in relief. "But it hurt when they grew out..."
"It will, obviously, but you'll heal quickly Amy. You came with a thousand injuries but most of them were somewhat healed," Scott informs her. "Good job."
"Wow, Scott's telling me good job," Amy grins at her siblings. "I must've really scared you."
"Yeah, you fucking did!" Scott gives up on fighting his tears. "I thought I lost both of you..."
Quill reaches over and gives her brother a big hug and Scott gladly takes it. Everyone smiles. Family is always family.
"You crazy lot must be tired," Ku turns to them. He didn't stop fretting over them as soon as he reached them. "We will go back to the Nobits' World now. I will see all of you tomorrow."
"Do we have to leave?" Urana frowns. "We can just stay here for a bit."
"You all have been kidnapped for over a week. Your families will be missing you right now," Ku smiles sadly. "I would love to stay as much as you all do but you all need to see your families."
"I miss my mom and Ty-my little brother," Ava avoids saying the name 'Tyler,' not sure if they would make Brenton sad.
"Then let us go," Ku waves bye to all of them, like the teens do, before leaving the hospital room.
                              --
Ava couldn't contain her excitement as she ran back home. She didn't ever want to leave them for so long ever again. Or rather, never feel like she'd never see them again.
"Mam! Tyler! I'm home!" Ava opens the door, with a bright smile on her face. Her mom sitting there with her red hair in a bun, looks up from her phone with her hazel eyes that she shared with Ava.
"Ava! About time!" Her mom rushes over and hugs her daughter, keeping her close. "As much I love you getting out there...you've got to stay at home sometimes!"
"I know Mam, I'm sorry," Ava plants a kiss on her mom's forehead. Her mom returns the gesture before hugging her daughter again.
"It's alright Ava," her mom looks over at the kitchen table. "I've made some food. Your brother is off doing whatever teenager things he does."
"Aw, I wanted to see him," Ava grins. "And food sounds amazing mom."
"I'm sure it does," her mom leads her towards the kitchen to give it to her.
                              --
Ku clutches the picture of Hiromi and him. It moves around to show what they were doing in the picture.
Hiromi has her hand on her stomach and Ku was happily standing next to her. It was right before disaster stroke. Her brown hair curled slightly at the ends, with half of her head shaved. Brown eyes that were filled with so much love...
I promised to find you Hiromi, Ku frowns, feeling tears building up in his eyes. But I fail. Time and time again...why? Why can I not find you?
