Chapter 7

We just finished our first semester at Beacon, and we were sitting in our room utterly board. "Ughhhhh what do we do now?" I was laying on my bed. Turning my head, I saw May on the floor, Onyx at the table, and Hunter sitting next to me. My ears twitched as I heard Onyx chuckle. May just rolled her eyes at how childish I sounded.

"Hmmmm you know going into town sounds like fun." Hunter suggested. "We could go window shopping, maybe go down to the doc to see if any students from other schools are coming?" I shrug my shoulders. Just as I am about to say something Hunter adds to his list of ideas. "We could go and eat out!" He seemed really excited about this idea.

"You know I haven't eaten anything today." Onyx said setting his crossword puzzle to the side. "There a good café down the street right next to that dust shop, which reminds me I need more dust." He got up to stretch his body.

May just smiled and looked over at Onyx. "Yeah let's go get food." Then she turned her head towards me. "Can we Ches?" Now May had gotten up as well. I rolled over onto my back and moaned. "Come on Ches we don't have to do anything today!" I was about to give May my answer when the bed shifted.

Hunter had moved and was on his knees. Then he started to tickle me. "Yeah come on Ches let's go eat." I start to laugh and try to push his hands away. Soon he starts laughing along with May and Onyx who just stand there and watch. I roll over onto my side trying to protect my stomach from being tickled. "What's wrong Ches? Fox got your tongue?" I continued to laugh.

"May! Onyx!" I tried to call for help between laughs. "Help me!" May just shook her head. Onyx on the other hand took a pillow and through it at Hunter. Hunter smirked at the challenge and used me as a shield. He then started to throw pillows at Onyx. "HEY! I am not a shield!" One of the pillows hit me square in the chest. So I caught it and decided to throw it at May.

May decided to challenge me with her eyes. She went next to Onyx to fight Hunter and me. Soon we ended up hiding behind beds and throwing pillows at timed intervals. "You will never win Hunter!" Onyx called out laughing with May.

"Oh I beg to differ!" Hunter called out and pulled a blanket off the bed. Quickly he jumped on the bed and threw the blanket over the other two. I ran over and together we started to hit them with our pillows. The two under the blanket tried to get out but had a hard time. Eventually we all ended up laying sprawled out on the floor. "Ok I think now is a good time to go get some food." Hunter said getting up. He helped me up and after reorganizing the room we left for the café that Onyx was talking about.

"You know what?" I said as we walked down the street. Hunter and Onyx both let out something that sounded like 'huh'. "I can't remember the last time I had that much fun." They looked at me and smiled. I think they were both happy to have made my life that much better. As I thought about it I started to think on a time when I did have that much fun.

I heard the thumping on the ground before I heard the knock at the door. "Coming!" I called but the person at the door was impatient. They opened the door and walked in on their own accord. "Or not." I mutter and headed to the living room area to find an excited Adam. "Oh it's just you. What's with the impatientness." I ask with a smile.

"We got our first mission off of Menagerie!" At first I didn't register what he said. The boy in front of me had to repeat himself. "We have a mission in Vaccuco!" Once I realized what he said I smiled. Then my face saddened.

"Adam Mayonaka can't go." The red head tilted his head to the side. "She got sick and is in no condition to go on a mission." Then his face also saddened. I was about ready to have my sixteenth birthday so that means that my mom would have to ask me soon whether or not I would want to stay here or go back to Atlas. 'Ches don't think of that right now. Enjoy it right now.' I told myself focusing back on Adam.
