A few moons later when Ashen and Grenade were well enough to travel they found a few visiting Xandarians who were willing to take them to the planet. They were immensely grateful considering that they didn't have any money or units to give the Xandarians. The Xandarians listened to their story and agreed to take them, free of charge.
Ashen padded to the lower deck of their smaller ship and sat on a box, facing a window. Grenade leaped beside her and looked out the window with her. All they had with them were their clothes and their weapons.
Ashen heard the engines fire a bit and Ashen felt her stomach lurch. She had never flown before besides the height that her wings could take her. She really had no idea how high she would actually be going or how big space was. She was interesting in learning it but was also nervous. What if they couldn't make their way in Xander? What if they were captured again?
Ashen flinched a bit as Grenade rested a paw on hers to try and calm her. "You alright," asked Grenade as he looked up at Ashen gently.
Ashen's mouth felt dry and she sighed. "Not really Grenade," she confessed as she shook her head slowly.
"What are you thinking about," asked Grenade before the ship lifted up and he groaned a bit, struggling not to lose his breakfast.
"Well Whisper, Pallid, Dish, even Somber," replied Ashen as she watched Terra grow smaller and smaller as the ship continued higher and higher into the air.
"Are you saying that they're all dead," asked Grenade as he plastered his ears against his head. "Because I don't believe that for a heartbeat!"
Ashen lashed her tail in amusement. "It doesn't matter if you believe it or not. If it's true there is really no arguing with it," she pointed out dryly.
Grenade rolled his eyes as the entered space's atmosphere. "I still think that Whisper and Dish are alive."
Ashen smiled, thankful for Grenade's determination in their family. "Maybe one day we will see them again," yawned Ashen as she lowered down on the box and Grenade scooted over so that Ashen could have almost the whole box to lay on.
Grenade smiled before he leaped onto her shoulders and she groaned a bit as he pawed at the cybernetic implants. "Sorry," Grenade whispered before he settled in the middle of her back and rested his head on one of her wings before he curled his body in the curve of her back. "Can I sleep here?"
Ashen blinked open one eye and smiled. "Sure. As long as you don't throw up on me."
Just the mention of vomiting made Grenade's stomach flip a bit. "Can't make any promises but I'll try."

"Ashen. Ashen. Ashen wake up. We're here."
Ashen groaned as she lifted her head and Grenade nearly fell from her back. "What time is it?"
"I don't know," growled Grenade as he shuffled toward the window and his ears twitched. "But look! This is no Terra."
Ashen pawed at her eyes a bit before she sat up and spread her wings. She padded over beside Grenade and looked out of the window. Everything seemed a lot different than Terra. There were no forests so far and very few lush greens. It looked pretty warm but Ashen was going to continue wearing what she was wearing just to be safe.
The Xandarians dropped them off at the capital while Ashen and Grenade expressed their gratitude. Ashen then padded from the ship onto the ground. It was cold, just like that of the lab. She acted as if it didn't bother her but she could tell that Grenade was less than pleased.
