When your mom dies, that's it. You can never get a new mom. Your mom, the person who gave birth to you, is gone. But for you dad, it's a different story. He can always find someone else he loves and remarry and get a new wife. He can get a new wife, but you can't get a new mom. But you'll have to live with her and deal with her and pretend it's okay that there's someone replacing your mom's place but isn't your mom. And everyone will say you're a brat and being selfish for not being happy for your dad that he finally found someone else after he lost your mom. Even though you haven't found someone to replace your mom because that's not possible. Even though every Christmas and Thanksgiving for the rest of your life, you might have to come home to a woman who doesn't like you and doesn't want you in her house but has to let you because it's your old house too. No one cares about that.
That is why whenever I think I'm about ready to move on, I can't. I'm being held back by the wind of myself. If you don't understand what I mean, it's okay.
