Dear mom,
I don't do resolutions. I don't like making promises that I can't and know I won't keep. But I do like new years.
WHY?
New years are insignificant.
They don't mean anything.
It's just another day.
But it's another day.
And it's another day with a new year and a new start.
I like new starts.
I put in a new pair of contacts today because I wanted to see the new year from a new perspective. I want to see everything, EVERYTHING, clean and new.
That's why I like new years. I can kind of understand why people make NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS. Because why not? It's a new year = a new start = a new everything. It's the perfect time to change.
Not that I need a new year to change. I seem to be able to do that all on my own all the time.
But still.
Even though you aren't alive anymore, I still wish you a happy new year of new perspectives.
