Evie examined herself in the body length mirror of her room, her bruises had faded completely and she was glad the physical reminders of that night were no longer visible, but it didn't help that she constantly had press, reporters or cameras shoved into her face every time she left the cottage. She hated that anytime her name was searched or Googled all they would see is article, after article, after article about Dominic's arrest, abuse or impending court case, she'd been diminished to just a victim which pissed her off, Evie saw herself as much more than that. The past three weeks since Dominic's arrest hadn't been easy, with the love and support of her fiancé Mason and her family she was leaving that dark part of her life behind, her focus was on her renewed life at the cottage, the life where she was someone's partner and someone's mother, where her life became over flooded with love and contentment. In her mind the past eighteen months didn't matter in the slightest because without them she wouldn't be here with Mason in this capacity, maybe without the distance she wouldn't have been able to say I love you to his face, maybe she would've just hid behind the letter. But now she told him she loved him at least twice a day, and every time she did she loved the natural smile that spread across his face, and the way his pupils dilated just by looking at her, there was pleasure knowing that her love had caused that smile. Now she was finally free to love Mason, free to enjoy their life together without anyone holding them back, they'd settled into the cottage, naturally falling into a domesticated rhythm by hitting the ground running, already making appointments at the fertility clinic, ready to make another collaboration in the form of a baby. Smiling happily at the thought of soon having his child, Evie stepped into her satin deep ruby red dress looking at herself in the mirror, as she suspected it fit perfectly, hugging the curves on the top half of her body, accentuating her supple breasts giving them a natural boost. The shoulderless dress flared with subtle pleats trailing the floor, twirling around she felt like a princess, the dress reminded her of the one Libby had made for her for her eighteenth, which before this was her favourite but this one was just regal. Mason thought so too as he watched Evie from the doorway, his smile grew as he he saw his fiancé twirling, he knew today would be one full of memories, love and happiness.
"You look beautiful Bubs" he startled her, she was about to scold him when she saw her fiancé, she thought she looked good but she ogled at him in his fitted ruby tuxedo with black lapels, black shirt and red bow tie, paired with a fresh trim Mason was basically her kryptonite.
"Do we have to leave now now cause I want to take your clothes off, urgh and you got a trim? Why are you trying to seduce me!" She groaned walking over to him, he grabbed her bum first pulling her into his arms, careful not to ruin the wine coloured lipstick Piper had carefully curated for Evie exclusively, he kissed behind her ear trailing down to her neck, slowly licking her collarbone with his cool tongue as she whimpered lightly.
"Just five minutes?" She suggested.
"Shouldn't a bridesmaid be early, let alone on time?" He whispered into her ear.
"Libby would forgive me" Evie muttered knowing he was right.
"Before we leave I got you something" Mason went to the night stand on his side of the bed showing Evie the diamond shaped dangling ruby earrings he'd bought her to match the necklace he'd got her for her eighteenth that she was currently.
"Think of it as a late Christmas present"
"These are gorgeous Mason!" She breathed putting them on looking at herself in the mirror "Are we going to show up the happy couple on their special day?" She joked kissing him on his cheek.
"It's an engagement party, not their wedding day they'll be fine it's not our fault we're sexy and look good" he shrugged innocently.
"We do look good together, come on let's get going we shouldn't be late, where's Cal?"
