Mason had gotten used to his family not showing up at important life events that the Smiths or the Johnsons or any other normal family might deem important. He had even gotten used to Megan not always turning up anymore, in the beginning like his sports days in school she had made an effort. But as they both grew older and Megan's responsibility started to pile up, such as being a mother of two she couldn't always make it and Mason understood. It was an admirable quality of his, his understanding, he accepted the way his family worked. At first it had bamboozled him growing up, till he realised due to his parents lack of desire to raise him in a huge household with a sister a decade older, he'd been raised in the D'Silver household instead, with a large family dominated by boys close in age who were more than happy to have Mason there. If he had the choice to change how his family treated him he wouldn't, he'd grown up just fine, he'd graduate today and begin the journey to become an architect. For his graduation he had hoped to have someone watching him cross that stage. He knew that Evie's internship had kept her busy this past month, but it would do wonders for her career and like he told her she shouldn't jeopardise it for him by taking the day off. His grandfather had already called ahead with apologies that the work he was doing wasn't quite done and it didn't help that there was a snowstorm where he was. He promised to live stream it at his earliest convenience, he was proud that his grandson was following in his footsteps. Mason knew that if the D'Silvers weren't at Michel's own graduation happening just next door that they would be there for him but he understood.

As always.

As he lined up with a few of his fellow classmates, ready to walk across the stage he surveyed the auditorium full of other graduates and their families. Full of happiness, pride and support, they'd be cheering them on as they walked across the stage. Mason couldn't help but feel a little down as his own name was about to be called, as he started to walk across the stage, a single figure stood whooping, clapping and whistling, representing a whole entourage. He broke out in a wide smile suddenly not feeling so down anymore, his whole demeanour and attitude became uplifted. Of course, she always did as she pleased, Evie blew him a kiss as he went back to his seat. When he finally got to his own seat he craned his neck trying to find where she was seated in the sea of faces. His phone buzzed in his pocket, the message from her.

Evie: You look sexy in your gown and hat.

Duly noted for next time we role play ;) what are you doing here?

Evie: You think I was going to let you celebrate a milestone by yourself? Mason Robert Clarke maybe you don't know me at all.

How can I make it up to you?

Evie: Wear the robe and hat next time you fuck me?

Will do Ma'am ;)

Both Mason and Evie had a smile on their face throughout the rest of the ceremony, when it was over he wasted no time going to find her, gracing her with a kiss.

"Thank you" he said earnestly, happy she'd been there for him.

"Don't sweat it" she grinned feeling those butterflies again as he smiled at her, his heart began to race and just like that in the bustling hallway with sounds of cheers and congratulations, they only saw each other, practically hypnotised. But the flash of the camera distracted them both, the candid photographer was impressed with her shot, showing them both and informing them the pictures would be available online the next week.

"Right well, Michel's graduation is wrapping up so let's queue up for the other photographer or Mum will kill us" Evie insists taking his hand and leading him in the direction of the studio photographer. Both grabbing a glass of champagne, they clink glasses and wait for the rest of the family to join them. They began to catch up as they'd both been busy since the fateful night of Jodie's party, each of them had been dealing healthily with the aftermath of the party, through therapy and moving on from toxic friendships. Of course they'd seen each other since, gone on dates, occasionally sneaking into the others room to spend the night and met each other for lunches. But as promised neither of them spoke about that night, or even what they'd spoken about the next day, believing that nothing more would come of that night.
