Chapter 3: Regrets

Louis and Violet make it to the scene. They crouch behind a bush. Then, they see a woman placing her boot on Clementine's neck and a man twisting AJ's arm. The man seems to be pulling AJ's arm harder, making AJ scream in pain. Clementine gets kicked in the face.

"I told you we shouldn't have kicked them out. Now, look where it's gone to!" Violet whispered-shouted. Violet starts to aim her bow at the woman. As Violet was about to let go, the two heard Clementine shout at them, "RUN!" 

Louis and Violet run as a gunshot rang through the air.

Clementine and AJ start to run, trying to dodge the bullets. But it was no use. A bullet was about to hit AJ when Clementine moved him out of the way and got shot. She fell to the ground, clutching her stomach in pain. The bullet had shot her abdomen.

She got up quickly and continued to run with AJ.

Clementine and AJ had lost Lilly and Abel. But, Clementine was shot and was still bleeding out. And now, they had walkers to deal with. Clementine killed some walkers with AJ's help with no problem, but when she was about to kill another one, it spoke. "No." It whispered. Clementine wanted to scream, but the walker put a hand over her mouth. "Stop." The person instructed. It was a boy. "Too loud." 

The 'walker' went the other way and picked up a rock. He threw it far away, enough to make the walkers out of reach, at least. Clementine's wound stung from all the running. Not to mention she was hungry. She clutched her stomach and groaned in pain. The person took off his mask to reveal himself.

"I'm James." He took out his hand for her to shake it but quickly spotted her wound. "Shit... are you okay?" James asks with his mask still off.

"What do you think?" Clementine snapped. James ignored Clementine's angry remark and guided her to follow him. Clementine nodded in approval but then remembered- AJ. Where was he? She looked around and couldn't find him anywhere. Then, she started to feel weaker and weaker by the second. Her eyes began to close and her body felt limp. The last thing she heard before she blacked out, was a small voice calling her. "Clem!"

Louis and Violet ran as fast as they could until they go so tired that they eventually stopped.

"Shit... Shit!" Louis exclaimed with his hands on his head. "This is all my fucking fault. Why did we run?"

"I-I don't know... I just..." 

Just then, another gunshot rang out through the woods, along with a scream that belonged to Clementine. 

"Vi, we gotta get over there!" Louis was panicking. Violet shook her head.

"It's too dangerous, Louis. We possibly might have lost Clementine. I don't want to lose you too."

"Bullshit! We have to help her! She might still be alive!" Louis argued. Violet sighed and shook her head again.

"Louis-" Before she could even finish her sentence, Louis was already running off into the woods to find Clementine.

Clementine woke up laying on a log, sitting by a warm fire where she could hear the crackling. She saw AJ and James beside her. She didn't even know him, how could they trust him?

"Clem!" AJ hugged her tightly. She winced slightly from the pressure on her wound.

"Easy on the sensitive parts, kiddo." He frowned slightly but nodded. Just then, the three heard running footsteps. Clementine arched up and reached for her knife as a reflex but laid back down because of the pain. Clementine looked in that direction to see a tall, freckled man with dreadlocks that stuck to his forehead from sweating.
