Hi! Here's chapter 3! There isn't going to be anything too major that happens just yet because it's still the beginning of the story and I don't want everything to happen at once. But, don't worry next chapter things will pick up.
Perrie's POV
"Hey babe?" I hear Alex calling me from the living room. "Yeah?" I shout back. "Could you come here for a second?" I stood up from my desk chair. I have been starting to bullet journal everyday. It really has been helping with my anxiety and for me to take a little bit of time for myself.
I enter the living room to find Alex sprawled out on the couch. "Did you need something?" I ask him. "You," he simply replied, pulling me into him. I felt my whole body blush. I get situated on the couch and snuggle up with him. "I love you," he whispers in my ear, giving me a kiss on the head. "I love you too," I say, turning so we're face to face. I kiss his lips and nuzzle my head into his neck. I feel my eyelids growing heavy and begin to fall asleep.
Just as I was beginning to fall asleep, I hear my name being screamed from upstairs. "MOMMA!" "MOMMA!" My motherly instincts kicked in when I heard Isabelle screaming. I ran up the stairs and into her room in about five seconds, Alex shortly behind me. As I run into her room, I see Izzy laying on the floor with her arm at a weird angle. "What's happened baba?" I say trying to soothe her as she sobs. "I-I fell off my-my bed," she sobs. I look up at Alex who has the look of panic in his eyes. When we turned her crib into a toddler bed, it was raised up higher than we liked. We ordered her a new bed but there was an issue with the delivery so it just went into the mail a few weeks ago. "Shhh, it's okay. Let mama see," I say trying to calm her down. I help her sit up and take a look at her arm. It's bent a little funny and is started to bruise and swell. "Babe, I think we should get this looked at," I say, attempting to be quiet so Izzy doesn't get scared. Alex nods at me and goes to start the car. "No doctor," said Izzy. "But honey if a doctor doesn't look at it, it could hurt even more and you don't want that do you?" I ask her. She just shook her head. "Okay, let's go," I say, picking her up carefully.
Alex gets Izzy buckled into her car seat and we drive to the emergency room. I text Jesy asking if she could come with us to help calm Isabelle down a little. Izzy has always been very fond of Jesy. Whenever I couldn't calm her down Jesy would come, and within seconds she would be asleep.
As we make our way into the emergency room my phone goes off. I read the message Jesy sent. "Of course, be there in a second," it read. I smiled. My best friends are truly the greatest. Alex checks us in as I sit with an ice pack to Izzy's arm, trying to keep it still to prevent her being in agonizing pain. While we're waiting, Jesy comes into the waiting room looking panicked. When she finally spots us, it looks as if a wave of relief came over her, letting her know everything was okay. Seeing her, I stand and accept her hug. "You bloody scared the crap out of me," she says quietly. Thinking back, I don't think I gave her an explanation of why we were coming here. "Sorry Jess, I was panicking," I responded. When Izzy finally realizes who's standing in front of her, a smile from ear to ear comes on her face. "Hey Iz," Jesy says enthusiastically, trying to cheer her up. In her effort, Izzy's arm must have moved the wrong way. "Ow!" she yelled in pain. Jesy quickly gave her a cuddle while I held her hand until we were called back.
We get back to the room and wait for the doctor to come in. "Thanks for coming, Izzy just gets really excited when she gets to spend time with you," Alex said to Jesy. "Of course, I love this little munchkin!" Jesy says while messing with her hair as she sits in my lap. Jesy takes the seat next to me. "Are you sure you don't want kids of your own?" I ask her. We've had a few conversations about this but I've never fully believed her. "And miss all of this? Not in a million years," she said. "Yeah but even if you foster, you will still have to do all of this," I say, trying to change her mind. "Well, yeah, but I won't have to go through the discomfort of having a child," she says with confidence. "You've made your point clear," I say with a silly smile.
We waited a few more minutes until finally the doctor come in. "Hey Izzy! What seems to be the problem today?" the doctor asks softly. "My arm hurts," she said sadly. "Your arm hurts? Well, don't worry, we'll fix your arm and you will be as good as new," the doctor replies with a smile. "Just like Doc McStuffins?" Izzy asked interested. "Just like Doc McStuffins," the doctor replied sweetly. "I'm going to take a look okay?" Izzy nods. After taking a look at Isabelle's arm and writing a few things down, we learn she needs an x-ray.
"But I don't want an x-ray," Izzy says starting to cry into my chest. "Hey, shh, it's going to be alright. Mama and daddy will be with you the whole time," I tell her. "And Jesy?" she says, looking up at me. "And Jesy," I respond, looking at Jesy who's laughing.
*skip x-ray*
"Okay, do you see this line here?" the doctor asks us? We all nod. "That is a break in her arm, just below her elbow. Nothing serious, just a cast for about six weeks," the doctor says. "A cast?" Izzy asks. "Yes, and you can chose what color you want it to be," the doctor responds. "I want pink!" Isabelle said excited.
Izzy's arm gets the cast and we leave the hospital. "Do you want to join us at the house? We're going to have a pizza and ice cream "party" to cheer her up a bit," I ask Jesy. "Definitely, I'm always in the mood for pizza and ice cream," Jesy says making us all laugh. "Shall we invite the girls and the kids?" I ask. "For sure," she simply responds.
*later that night*
Ring. "Babe they're here," Alex calls from downstairs. "Okay Iz, you excited to play with your friends?" I ask her. "Yeah!" she says happily. "Okay," I laugh, "Just be careful, okay?" She nods and the room fills with the sound of feet running up the stairs. I watch all the kids run by me into Izzy's room, fascinated by her cast. It makes me so happy that they are all so close. I don't have to warn them about being careful either because all of them are exactly like us.
I go down the stairs and greet Leigh and Jade. "How's Izzy?" Jade asks. "Much better now that food is here," I laugh. "A girl just like her mam," says Leigh, grabbing piece of pizza with one hand and holding Rhea in the other. "Do you want me to hold her?" Jade asks Leigh, "I'm not that hungry so I can hold her while you eat." Leigh-Anne hands her to Jade. "Thank you so much," she says, "She can walk but when she's tired she won't."
We all sit on the couch, eating our pizza and talking about life. "Where's Alex?" Jesy asks. "Um, I'm not too sure. He said he was going to eat upstairs to give us alone time, but that was a while ago," I say confused. As if he was listening Alex appears from the bottom of the stairs. "I have a surprise," he says nonchalantly, "Follow me." We all get up and follow him up the stairs. He leads us into Izzy's room which confuses all of us even more. That is, until we looked at her bed. "You built it?" I say shocked, "When was it delivered?" He pulls me into a hug, "This afternoon when we got back from the emergency room. I saw it outside and when you brought Izzy in the house I hide it," he explains. "That's so sweet, thank you," I say giving him a kiss on the lips. "Aww," I hear the girls say behind me.
Izzy runs in. "Mama, do you like my new bed? Daddy built it to surprise you!" she says to me. "I love it baby," I say while giving her a hug.
The night continued while the kids played with toys and we watched movies and chatted about all of our problems. Another reason why I'm grateful I have them in my lives.
a/n: There's chapter two. A bit longer, and a happy one. I wanted to have a little fluff in there before I put some rough stuff in. Have a lovely day! -Honey
