Jesy's POV:
While Jade was in getting her surgery, Leigh, Perrie, and I were out in the waiting room. Norma has taken the twins back to her house until Jade was a bit better. An alarm on my phone goes off causing me to look down. "Oh crap guys, I forgot I'm supposed to be meeting Sophie today at the park," I say. "Don't worry, we'll be here when she wakes up. You go on and meet your future," Leigh says. "First of all hopefully future and second are you sure? I don't want to leave Jade," I say. "What would Jade tell you to do?" Perrie asks. I answer without hesitating. "She would tell me to go." They both nod and I stand up. "Okay, just please keep me updated," I say. "We will, don't worry," I hear Leigh say as I'm walking.
I texted Chris and told him to meet me at the park. Within minutes, he was there and walking over to me. "How did you get here so fast?" I ask, giving him a peck on the lips. "You called," he said smiling which made me blush. I grabbed his hand and we headed down the path closer to the playground. It was pretty empty today which worked in our favor I guess. We sat on a bench and waited for them to get here. A few minutes later, I saw Sophie and the social worker walking towards us down the sidewalk. Chris and I stand up and wait for them to make their way over to us. "Hi, I'm Mary, Sophie's social worker," she says, shaking both of our hands. "This here is Sophie," she added while both of us waved to her. "Okay, are you ready to go play with Jesy and Chris?" Mary says bending down to her level. Sophie nodded her head and looked up at me. Her brown eyes melted my heart. "Let's go!" I say enthusiastically and hold out my hand. She grabs a hold of it and starts walking.
We walked over to the sandbox where I was hoping to get to know her a little bit. "So, what's your favorite color?" I ask her. She thinks a second before answering. "Purple!" she says. "That's great. What's your favorite food?" I ask her. "Hamburgers," she says. "Really? Mine too!" I say. She laughs at me. We play there for a little bit before going over to the slide. "Wheee!" she says as we ride down together. My phone started to ring so I walked to a quieter part of the playground, leaving Chris to have some one-on-one with her.
"Hello?" I say.
"Hey, it's Leigh, Jade's out of surgery," she says.
"Is everything okay?" I ask starting to get nervous.
"Oh yeah, everything's fine. She just wanted to talk to you real quick," Leigh says.
"Oh, okay," I say relieved.
"Hey Jesminda," I hear Jade weakly say.
"Hello Jade. How are you feeling?" I ask.
"I'm fine, don't worry about me. How's Sophie?" she asks.
"She's great. I really want to adopt her," I admit.
"Well, go do it!" she says.
"I can't. I have to wait and talk to Chris and hope he feels the same way," I say.
"I'm sure he will, and if not know that he'll have to answer to me," she says.
"Okay, I will," I say laughing slightly.I ended the call and turned around to walk back to them. I saw Chris pushing her on the swing. The sight melted my heart. I slowly walked over there, letting the moment last as long as it could. By then we only had a few minutes left. I quickly whispered something to Chris before sitting down on the bench with Sophia.
"Is it okay if I ask you a few questions?" I ask gently. She nodded her head. "Great. So, did you have fun today?" I asked. "Yeah, I don't get to play a lot," she said sadly which broke my heart. "Do you like to draw?" I ask. She nods her head immediately. "Last question, how would you feel about us adopting you?" I ask. She looked up into my eyes, her brown ones meeting mine, and than gave me a big hug. Tears build in my eyes as Chris joins our hug.
We sat like that for a while, not wanting to let go. "Are you okay with that?" I ask through tears. "Yes!" she says excitedly. I make eye contact with Chris and he gives her a kiss on the head. By than, Mary was making her way over to us.
"How did it go?" she asked when she finally reached us. "It went great," I said "I think we would like to adopt her." Mary smiled. "I figured you would so I brought the paperwork with me," she said. I gave her a hug. "Thank you so much," I said. "No problem, just fill out the paperwork and bring it by tomorrow and we'll schedule the day for her to come with you," she said. "Of course," I say. I look down to Sophie, who's holding Chris's hand. I bend down and give her a hug. "Bye sweetie, i'll see you soon," I say sweetly. Chris does the same and we begin to part ways, Sophie waving at us while we walked.
We got into the car and pulled out. "Hey, can you drop me off at the hospital on the way? I want to tell the girls the news," I ask. "Of course," Chris says. We drive over to the hospital, discussing everything from her room all the way to school. We arrive and Chris drops me off. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay?" Chris asks. "Yeah, i'll get ride from Leigh or Perrie," I say giving him a quick kiss before he drives away.
I knock on Jade's door before opening it slowly. Leigh and Perrie were asleep on the couch in there and Jade was awake rocking Kaiden. "Why are these two asleep?" I ask quietly when I walk over to her bed. "They're refusing to go home to their own families," Jade says. Kaiden yawns, making Jade smile at him. "Can I hold my godson?" I asked reaching my arms out. Jade laughs and hands him to me. "So how did the meeting go?" she asked. "It went really well. There is something I want to say, but these two need to wake up before I share," I say. "Here," Jade says handing me two pillows that were on the chairs. I take them and throw them. One at Leigh, the other at Perrie.
They both started waking up. Leigh was the first one to realize what happened. "Hey!" she shouts. Kaiden starts to cry from Leigh's shouting. "Sorry," Leigh says with an apologetic face. Unable to soothe him, I hand Kaiden back to Jade, where he starts to settle. "Are you two awake now?" I ask. "Barely," Perrie mumbles. "Well, I have an announcement," I say. "Chris and I are adopting Sophie!" All of their faces lit up. "Congratulations!" Leigh said running over to hug me. "Welcome to the mam world!" Perrie said giving me another hug. "I'm so proud of you," Jade says tearing up. "Aww," I say giving her a hug.
We sat there and talked for hours. About our kids, about our futures, and tour. We were relaxing now, but soon it will be grueling.
