Leigh's POV:
I felt myself slowly starting to wake up. I squinted my eyes open to see the sun shining through into the hospital room. I sat up in the chair and looked around to find Jesy missing. Confused, I reached for my phone and was surprised when there was no message from her. I shrugged it off and turned my attention to Andre. He was starting to get some color back into his face and didn't seem as pale as he was yesterday, so that's a good sign.
After a few minutes, the door opened revealing Jesy. "Hey, I went to grab us some coffee and breakfast," she said as she came into the room. "Oh, thank you. I would've gone with you," I said, feeling bad I was asleep longer. "No, focus your attention on Andre," Jesy said. "Here," she said handing me a to go cup and a muffin.
I graciously accepted the items and set them on the side table next to me. Jesy had opened a small takeout box that had some pieces of bacon in it. "Do you want some" she asked, holding up the box to face me. I shook my head as I began to smell the bacon. My stomach started to feel uneasy. Before I knew it, I was in the bathroom.
There was a knock on the door as I began to process what had just happened. "You alright, Leigh?" Jesy asked from outside the door. I opened it, revealing a concerned Jesy. "Yeah, I think so," I said still a little shaken up. "Are you sick?" she asked. I shook my head as it started to pound. I put my hand on my forehead to try and relieve some of the pain. Jesy noticed and quickly walked over to her purse.
"Do you want some?" she asked holding a thing of tablets. I nodded and she handed me a few. "Thanks," I said as I swallowed them. "You sure you're alright?" Jesy asked double checking. "Yeah, I was feeling like this yesterday too but I brushed it off because I felt fine later in the day. It's probably just stress," I said looking over to Jesy. She had a different look than I did, a more fearful one.
"What?" I asked her confused. "What time yesterday were you feeling bad, the morning again?" Jesy asked. I nodded my head still not following. Jesy gave me a look. Suddenly, I knew exactly what she was implying.
"No," I said strictly. "I'm not," I insisted a second time. "Do you know for sure?" Jesy asked. I looked down to the floor. "No, I don't. But I can't be," I said emphasizing the last sentence. "Well, do you want to find out?" Jesy asked. "I really don't, but I probably should, shouldn't I?" I asked, knowing what I had to do. Jesy nodded her head. I sighed out and blinked, hoping the tears would stay in. "Aw babe," Jesy said hurrying over to give me a hug. "I can't be Jes," I said, allowing a few tears to fall freely down my cheeks. "If you are, everything will be just fine," Jesy said. "We'll help you and when Andre wakes up, he'll be so excited," she said. All I could manage was a nod.
Even though we were in a hospital, we chose the safe option to quickly run across the street to a store. We didn't want to risk a fan or someone seeing us there. That would circulate even more stories.
Since it was still fairly early in the morning, the store was pretty quiet. We were in and out decently fast. "I just texted Perrie and Jade to let them know what's going on," Jesy said as we started too walk back to the hospital. I nodded my head. Jesy's phone buzzed. "They said they're on their way," Jesy said reading her phone. "No, tell them to stay home. If I'm just sick I don't want them to bring it home to the kids, especially Luke," I insisted. The last thing I wanted was for this sickness to spread. "They said okay, but their not happy about it," Jesy said. I smiled, knowing how great my friends are.
We made it back to the hospital room and I set the bag of tests down on the table. I stared at the bags and took a deep breath. "I love you, now go take the test," Jesy said rubbing my back. I smiled and grabbed a test and headed into the bathroom.
The three minutes I spent waiting were probably the longest three minutes of my life, even longer than the other two times I was pregnant. I heard Jesy's timer go off and I felt panic rush through my body. Jesy respectively let me look first on my own. I reached out my shaking hand to flip over the test.
Negative. "Oh thank you," I whispered. I felt a wave of relief and brought the test to Jesy. I held it out to her and she took it quickly before smiling. "See, told you wasn't," I said playfully. "Oh hush up, I was was just trying to help," she said chuckling. "I know you were, thank you," I said as I pulled her into a long hug.
