a/n: Hey! Here's chapter six!
Perrie's POV
Ring. I run over to the door, knowing it was Jade. She hung up once she started driving since it was night, so I was relieved to see her. I open the door to see Jade with dried tears on her face, and red eyes. It was obvious she was crying a lot more than she was letting on. The twins were still upset, which is understandable.
I pull Jade into a long hug. Which made her cry more. After, I kneeled down and looked at the twins. I have never seen more fear in their little eyes. "Would you girls like to go sleep in Izzy's room?" I ask gently. They both nodded their heads, realizing they were safe. Jade placed her bag down and pulled them both in for a hug. The grip they had on each other was unbreakable. "Everything's going to be okay, go get some sleep," Jade said once they broke away. It broke my heart when I saw Jade wiping away their tears, as well as her own. Alex appeared from the hall and took the twins to Izzy's room.
The girls have always seen Alex as a father figure. He was someone they were comfortable with, so it wasn't a big deal to the three years olds to leave their mam to go with him
"Come here babe," I say, pulling Jade in for another hug. This time, I let her cry into my chest. She was trying to be strong for the twins before, but since they were gone, all the emotions just came out. Once we broke away, I brought her into my room. I just assumed she would want to stay with me since I didn't think she would feel safe alone, so Alex is sleeping in the spare room.
We got into my room and sat on my bed. I handed her some pajamas and waited for her to get into bed. "Do you want to talk," I ask her softly. She just shakes her head in reply. Sighing, I turn off the light and go to sleep, hoping she will talk in the morning.
*the next morning*
I wake up at around noon. We had a late night so that was explainable. I turn over and see Jade still asleep. She was asleep but didn't look peaceful. I turn on my phone to see a bunch of messages from Jesy and Leigh. They wanted to know why neither of us were responding. Confused on how they knew stuff happened. I look on the news. There's articles on articles of Jed with the girl, I'm assuming from last night.
At some point Jade must've woken up because soft sniffling could be heard. I look over and see her still, softly crying. "Hey, shh, don't cry," I say, trying to soothe her. She sits up and stops a little. "The twins?" Jade says, with panic in her eyes. "Hey, it's okay. I got a message from Alex saying that he took them and Izzy out for the day. They seem fine he said," I say trying to calm her down. "Did he take the carseats?" Jade questions, a little more relieved. "Yes, he did," I laugh. Jade's always been a little overprotective and strict with the twins, the complete opposite of me.
"Do you want to talk now?" I ask, again. She replies by nodding. "He came home late, drunk. He brought another girl, his girlfriend, with him. Apparently they've been been dating for a year now. I confronted him and he bent my wrist back," she explained. That's when I noticed her wrist. It was very swollen and bruised. "He slapped my face and punched me in the arm and legs a few times. That's when he left. Then, I looked over the twins had been standing there, for I have no idea how long," she adds.
That's when I felt a rush of anger through my body. How could someone do that? Especially to Jade. I wasn't sure what to say or do so I just pulled her into another hug and rubbed her shoulder, trying to comfort her. "What if the girls end up with Jed?" she asks with a scared tone. I hadn't even thought of that. "That's what he said was going to happen before he left," she said. "Don't worry. Jed is never going near those girls ever again," I said, trying to sound confident. "Do you want to go grab some food and watch a movie? She nodded. "Let's go," I said getting up and taking her hand.
We got downstairs into the living room and I turned on Tangled. I went to grab us some popcorn and when I came back I could see Jade clearer in the light from the windows. She had a hand mark on her cheek and a few bruises on her legs and arms. I had given her shorts and a short sleeved shirt the night before so you could see the marks clearly.
I sat down next to her and watched the movie, when it was over, I realized I never answered Jesy and Leigh. Not sure of what to say I just invited them over. "Is is alright if Jesy and Leigh come over and join us?" I ask, making sure it's okay. "Yeah, of course," she replies quietly. Those being some of the first words she's said since she explained what happened.
Jesy and Leigh come in through the front door and come join us in the living room. "Hey, how are you guys," Jesy asked, looking at Jade, who just shrugged and looked down. I tried to give them basic information of what happened through text, but the thing is, I'm still not sure of what actually happened. Jesy just nods, understanding and they join our snuggle on the couch.
At some point we all must have fallen asleep, because when I woke up Leigh was on her phone and Jesy was asleep. I look over and Jade was asleep too. "Afternoon sleepyhead," Leigh says to me. "Ha ha," say back. "Can you all keep it down, I was sleeping," I hear Jesy say with a tone of sleepiness in her voice. I just laugh and shake my head. "Can we talk?" Leigh asks me and Jesy. Jesy and Leigh get up and walk into the kitchen. I slowly stand up, trying to not wake Jade and join them in the kitchen.
"Okay so what exactly happened?" Leigh asks. "I'm not too sure. But, basically, Jed came home drunk with his other year long girlfriend. Pretty sure broke Jade's wrist, slapped her, punched her, threatened to take Jaz and Jolie, and then stormed out," I say, trying to make sense of it. "Wow," is all Leigh can say. "That boy is dead," Jesy says with a tone of anger. "So that bruise from yesterday was from him?" Leigh asks. "I'm pretty sure," I say. "What do we do?" Leigh asks. "Beat his ass," Jesy says. "No Jess, you know we can't do that," I respond. "I guess all we can do is be there for her until she gets through this," I say turning to Leigh. But I'm not exactly sure what she is going to have to go through.
