a/n: here's chapter 8!
*a few weeks later
Jesy's POV:
"Hey babe," Chris says to me as I walk into the living room. "Hey," I respond, kissing his check and joining him on the couch. I must've dozed off at some point because I woke up to the sound of my phone buzzing.
"Do you girls want to grab lunch, just us four?" Leigh-Anne texted in our group chat. "Sure," I answer. Followed by a "We'll be there, where exactly?" Perrie said, answering for her and Jade. "Mexican?" Leigh suggested. "Okay," I say, laughing at how much she loves Mexican. "I'll be back later, love you," I shout to Chris.
Once we get to the restaurant, I find the table Perrie, Jade, and Leigh are sitting at. "Hey girls!" I say. "Hey, how are you?" Perrie asks. "Good, now that, that bloody single is done!" I say almost relieved. We had struggled with deciding on the last song and just couldn't figure out what we wanted. We eventually found one we really like and got it recorded, meaning the album is done and we get to release it soon.
We talked about random things until it was time to order. "I'll have a taco please," I order. "I'll have the nachos," said Leigh. "I'll have a burrito," Perrie says. "I'll just have some chips," Jade ordered. "Okay, well bring your food out soon," says the waiter. "Are you still not feeling well?" I ask Jade. "It's off and on, but I'm fine," she reassures. All of us shared some looks and decided just to drop it.
We chatted for a little bit until our food was brought over. "Hey, I gotta go. The attorney can only meet today. I'll see you later," Jade says leaving. "Is she okay?" I hear Leigh ask Perrie. "I don't know. She won't tell me much but I know she's trying to move the whole divorce process along as quickly as possible," she answers. Jade is still living with Perrie. She's looking for other places even though Perrie keeps reassuring her she can stay as long as she needs.
"She's barely eating," I add. Whenever Jade gets really stressed, her old habits come back and she doesn't eat a lot. "And her not feeling well, is concerning me," says Leigh. "You know," Perrie starts "this has been going on for weeks, and..." all of a sudden Perrie's eyes widen. "You don't think she's..." Perrie says without finishing. Leigh's eyes widen once she realizes what she's talking about. "Well, if she is pregnant," I say breaking the silence, "We'll be there for her no matter what."
We finish up our meal, when I get a phone call from Chris. "I'll be right back," I say stepping outside. "Hello?" I hear a siren in the back. "Chris? Are you okay?" I ask. "Hey, I'm on the way to Lakeside Hospital, can you meet me there?" he says somewhat nonchalantly. "What the hell, are you okay? What happened?" I ask frantically. "Yeah, well, actually I don't know. I ran out to the store to grab some flowers to surprise you tonight, and on the way back someone hit me." he explains, "My leg is a little beat up. It's definitely broken, but I don't know how bad." I relax a little. At least he's okay. I know Chris doesn't want to scare me, so he's trying to be calm. His way of being calm is always in some humor. "Okay, I'll be there soon." I say ending the call.
Walking back to the table, I see the two remaining girls paying for their food. "Hey girls, I gotta go too. Chris is in the hospital," I say leaving money on the table ."What? Is he okay?" Perrie asks looking panicked, follow by Leigh. "Yeah, but his leg is a little messed up." I say, trying to calm them down. "We'll come when we're finished paying and meet you there," Leigh says. "Okay, thank you so much," I say relaxing a little, "I'll see you soon," I say leaving the restaurant.
I must've gotten to the hospital in minutes considering it was at least a 20 minute drive. I know he's okay, but I'm still really concerned about his leg. I walk in and talk to the lady at the front desk. "He's in surgery, he'll be out in a few hours," the lady at the desk says. "Surgery?" I question, becoming panicked. "Don't worry. His leg injury was a little more serious then they thought but it's a really common surgery, he'll be fine," the lady tries to reassure me. Feeling a little more relieved, I go and sit in the waiting room. After about 5 minutes, Leigh and Perrie join me. I caught them up on everything I knew. "So, what's exactly wrong with his leg?" Leigh asks. "Honestly, I'm not too sure. I think that's what the doctors are trying to figure out," I say, a little bit confused. "I feel like I've been here so many times in the past month," Perrie says. "Between Izzy's arm and now Chris's leg who's next?" Leigh adds, with a bit of humor behind her tone. "Hey, Jade just texted, her meeting just finished. She's on her way here now," Perrie says. "Are we going to confront her about the pregnancy?" Leigh asks. "I think we need to. It's better it comes from us then her finding out on her own," I suggest. "I just don't know how much more she can handle," Perrie says quietly.
After about half an hour, Jade arrives at the hospital and joins us in the waiting room. We all make looks at each other and nod, it's better now then later. "Hey babe, can we talk to you?" I say, trying to be gentle. "Yeah, about what?" she asks, looking confused and a little nervous. "So, I know you haven't been feeling great these past few weeks," Perrie starts, "And, based on your symptoms and the fact it's off and on, we think you might be pregnant," she says softly. She just looked at the floor. She was silent for a few seconds before speaking up. "I know," she starts. "You're pregnant?" Leigh asks trying to gentle and hold back her excitement. "I don't know for sure, but it has been going through my head a lot," she continues, "I've just been to scared to find out for sure." Perrie pulls her into a hug. "Why didn't you tell us? We would've helped you," Perrie says with a concerned tone. She just shakes her head and closes her eyes. "So, when do you plan to find out?" Leigh asks. "I don't know, but probably soon," she says timidly. Perrie looks up at me, and I just nod my head, knowing exactly what she's asking. "Babe, Leigh and I are going to take you to the chemist and get a test. And we're going to go home and take it okay?" Perrie says. "What about Jess?" she asks. "I'll be fine baba, I won't know anything for a few hours so i'll update you guys when I find anything out," I reassure her. She nods and they leave the hospital.
Perrie's POV:
We arrive at the chemist and I notice how nervous Jade is. She keeps saying she fine, but I can tell she's terrified. "Relax babe," I say grabbing her hand and Leigh grabbing her other one. We make our way to the isle where the tests are. I look around. So far, there's no paps so we should be able to get out without an issue. The news about her and Jed is starting to get out though because fans are starting to notice.
She grabs a test and we check out. We go to the car and head to Jesy's house. Jesy told us to go there because we won't have to worry about the husbands and kids finding out yet and making things more hectic then they already were.
When we get inside, we dump everything on the kitchen counter. We bought some sweets to lighten the mood a little and make Jesy feel better while she's waiting. I look over and just see Jade staring at the test on the counter. "Are you ready babe?" I ask her. "As ready as i'll ever be," she says, holding tears back. Jade goes into the hall bathroom and we wait outside the door. By waiting, I mean pacing back and forth and shaking, maybe even more than Jade was. The door opens and we walk into the bathroom. The three minutes it took for the test to finish felt like forever. At that point I could see Jade wiping tears at a failed attempt to hide them. Leigh and I just rubbed her arms until the timer went off. We let Jade look first.
"Crap," Jade says, breaking into tears. Leigh and I look over at the test, and sure enough the test said "positive."
