A/N

(Y/N) Your Name

(B/N) Bird Name

"Signing"

"Talking"

It had been officially two years since leaving San Francisco. It was during the morning, but not too early, around 8:00am. (Y/N) was doing her morning patrol around the apes home. She flew around the sky while being accompanied by (B/N). The way (Y/N) communicates with birds, is different to how she communicates with apes. She speaks to them normally and they reply in movements and sounds that only she understands.

After about 45 minutes of looking around the forest, (Y/N) stopped and held onto the side of a tree. (B/N) was perched on her wing as she watched. They stayed there for a minute before (Y/N) heard movement from about 150 metres away. Both of them flew back up into the sky and made their way towards the noise.

They stopped in mid-air when they saw a group of humans, at least 40, slowly walking through the forest. (Y/N) hid in the trees, still watching the humans.

"They're trying to find the apes." She said. Then she noticed something, "what..? They- they have apes with them." (Y/N) discovered, shocked. She saw a few gorillas and chimps, holding bags and wearing no armour, walking beside the armoured weapon-holding soldiers and they were moving fast. It seemed they knew where the apes were hiding out. "We gotta go, now." (Y/N) launched herself into the sky and flew beside (B/N) as went back to tell Caesar what was happening. And they couldn't waste a second.

They got back to the caves and landed, but not very gracefully. She was in the biggest part of the cave, in the middle where Caesar and the other 'important' apes were. She landed on her feet but tripped slightly. She was exhausted and breathed heavily while standing in front of Caesar. (B/N) stayed on (Y/N)'s wing while Caesar stood and held (Y/N)'s shoulders.

"Breathe, (Y/N). What happened?" He asked, his speaking was becoming better and clearer. "Humans- in the forest... Guns... and apes... with them." She panted.

"Apes? Held captive?" Caesar asked. (Y/N) shook her head.

"Working... with them." Caesar gave a shocked expression as he helped his sister sit down.

"Luca. Gather the guard and anyone else. Set up the defences and weapons. Be ready and wait till they get close, once they attack, fight back." Caesar ordered to Luca. Luca nodded his head and immediately did what he was told. Majority of the male apes followed him to the wall, hid all along the top and prepared themselves for the fighting to begin.

----------------------------------------------------------

The first bomb went off. Then the second. Then the third. Apes were blown off the wall, their fur burnt as the fell to the ground. Soldiers shot at any ape they saw. Apes shot arrows and threw spears. Blood was everywhere. Bullets were flying at and over the wall.

The humans thought they were winning until hundreds of other apes came running up the wall and they stood on top and looked at the humans down below. They threw smoke bombs at the humans and the smoke spread across the ground, making in impossible to see. Sounds of things zooming in the sky were heard by the soldiers. They looked up and one by one, they were hitting by hundreds of arrows, in their heads, shoulders and chests.

The humans were either killed instantly or they tried to run away. The apes jumped off the wall and ran after them. One of the apes stood in front of an unharmed human with his spear held high. He let out a call and (Y/N) flew down and landed next to him. The human stared at her with freight. Her war paint made her look terrifying.

"Take him in and tie him up. I'll report to Caesar." She signed to the ape. The ape nodded. The soldier was about to say something to the female before she flew away and he was interrupted by the ape forcing him up.

"No, no. No!" He protested but the ape only pushed on.

All the apes who fought against the humans were resting in a long but small building made of logs. Most of the apes were covered in blood, burns and scars. Many of them sat and whimpered in pain. But even through the pain, they managed to move to the side to let their fearless leader walk past. Caesar's walk was slow, his back was straight and his face was angry. Luca and Winter, a white gorilla, walked behind him.

Caesar continued to walk along while holding his hand out for the injured apes. He stopped walking once he made it to where four soldiers and one gorilla sat on their knees, hands tied behind their backs and their heads were down.

Caesar reached the humans, and one gorilla, and held out a hand to the ape who kept watch. His name was Spear. Caesar looked at the soldiers then felt a hand on his left shoulder. He turned his head and saw (Y/N), Maurice came in after her.

"I'm here brother." She signed with respect. Then he looked to Maurice.

"Sixty-three dead." Maurice signed sadly. Caesar sighed.

"You're him. You're Caesar." Said the soldier who was found by an ape and (Y/N). Apes behind Caesar started hooting quietly. "We've been searching for you for so long. We heard you had a hidden command base. But we could never find it. Some of us started to think that you might be dead. But Colonel McCullough said you were out here somewhere-"

"Just kill us already." Another soldier said.

"Shut up, man!" And so did another.

"What? They're animals. And look at her." He gestured to (Y/N). "She's just as much of a hideous animal as the rest of them. They're gonna slaughter us."

Caesar took a step closer to the idiotic man who would dare speak to his sister and family like that. "I... did not start this war. The ape who did is dead. His name was Koba. I killed him. Now I fight only to protect apes."

"Yeah?" The man interrupted. "What about him? We've got ten more just like him." A said as he moved his head over to the gorilla on the far right.

"I know these apes. They follow Koba. They tried to kill me. They fear what I will do to them. So now, they serve you. Just to survive." Caesar said as he looked at the humans dead in the eye.

"I don't... fear you." The gorilla said, still facing the ground. "You must fear." He continued as he looked up from the ground. "How long you think woods can protect you? Humans destroy you. Their Kerna has all power. For them, he more than just human. He everything." The apes started hooting again. "He say: first Caesar die. Then, all of you die." The apes became louder until Spear, the ape who was keeping watch, hit and punched the gorilla in the head. Caesar calmly told him to stop and signed to Luca to take him away.

"Winter! Take his traitor outside!" Luca signed. Winter did just that.

"What should we do with the humans?" Luca signed to Caesar. Caesar looked to the soldier who stood out the most, he stared at him for a minute then made up his mind.
