Chapter 55: Unexpected

(Y/N) and Cornelius walked back into their home and had made their way to Maurice and Rocket. (Y/N) told Cornelius to go hang out with his friends but Cornelius insisted on staying. One, because he thought he was old enough to be involved in these sort of things. And two, he was quite frankly a little worried about (Y/N). The look on her face was so determined yet, so scared. He knew (Y/N) would not give this up until she found out what that sound was. They explained to Maurice and Rocket that she'd heard something. But it was hard because she was unable to explain the sound specifically. Maurice and Rocket looked to Cornelius, who just shrugged his shoulders. (Y/N) walked in a circle, trying to pinpoint what she had heard. She felt as though she would go insane if she didn't figure out this complicated and annoying mystery. 

"(Y/N). I believe it's nothing to worry about." Maurice signed as he tried to convince her to calm down. 

"No. No. I heard something. I know I did. And I can't get it out of my head." She said as she continued to walk in circles as her feathers rustled in stress. 

"Ugh! It's driving me crazy! It's just replaying over and over again!" She stressed. 

"Go for a fly. That always calms you down." Rocket suggested. (Y/N) stopped pacing and sighed.  

"Fine. Maybe it is nothing to worry about." She admitted before she jumped into the sky. Damon ran up to them just as (Y/N) had left. 

"What's going on with her?" He asked. 

"Thought she heard something in forest but just bird." Cornelius explained in a simpler way for Damon. Damon stiffened as he read Cornelius' signs. 

"You know anything?" Maurice asked. 

"What? No, no I don't. But..I do think it's nothing to worry about. I can look around with her where she heard the sound." Damon suggested before he ran after (Y/N). 

"I don't trust him." Rocket signed to the other two apes. Maurice nodded. 

"It did seem like he knew something. Cornelius, can you keep an eye on him while he's near (Y/N)?" Maurice asked. Cornelius nodded before he made his way up into the trees and swung in the direction Damon went.

"(Y/N)! Where are you?!" Damon called out. He wandered around the forest as he called out her name. Cornelius sat up high in the tree. He watched Damon while he also looked out for (Y/N). He felt a light tap on his shoulder. He quietly spun around and saw (Y/N). She held onto the side of a tree. 

"What are you doing here?" She signed. 

"Maurice told me to follow Damon. Rocket doesn't trust him." Cornelius answered. 

"I understand why. But don't worry, I got my eye on him." 

"They just want to keep you safe."

"It's fine. I'll tell Damon that's everything's cool while you go back and tell them everything's under control." She said. 

Cornelius rolled his eyes but nodded. He swung off the tree he was on and went back to where the others were. (Y/N) jumped down off the tree and called out for Damon. 

"Hey, what's wrong?" She asked when she found him. 

"Oh, n-nothing." He said awkwardly with a nervous smile. But soon the smile changed. 

"You okay?" (Y/N) asked. Damon looked down at his feet and back up to the girls eyes. 

"I'm great... But you won't be." He said as an evil smirk made its way to Damon's face. (Y/N) stepped back. 

"What do you mean?" She asked questioningly before she felt a sharp pain in her neck. She laid her hand on her neck before slowly, she started to feel dizzy. Her eyes glowed red as she screamed, "NO!" But soon, she passed out. 

Damon looked at her limp body on the ground and smiled. "Took a while...but it's done." He said. 

"Good. The chopper's coming in. Get her in the cage and we'll head back. Don't want those apes following us." Someone said through an ear piece. 

"You know, she almost found this thing when you delivered it to me earlier. I was surprised. You'll need the top best cages and cuffs to hold her down." Damon replied. Wind was heard above them. A helicopter lowered a cage down next to them. Damon carried (Y/N) into the cage and hit the chain, signalling the people inside that they were ready to leave.

Meanwhile, Cornelius had gotten back to Maurice and Rocket. They were talking before they heard someone scream "NO!" and they immediately knew who it was. Some other apes heard it too. Around 15 apes ran with Maurice, Rocket and Cornelius. They all shrieked as they ran and swung through the trees. They heard the sound of wind above them. They climbed to the top of the trees and saw a helicopter with a cage connected to it. (Y/N) was in the cage, unconscious, while Damon stood on top as he held the chain.
