While Malcolm was still in the city, (Y/N) was sitting on the floor next to Caesar, who was still on the couch. (Y/N) looked at the the photo that Alex held earlier. It was a picture of Will sitting at the table with Caesar and herself. It was when they were learning how to say 'home' in sign language.
She smiled at the memory but soon after, her happiness turned to sadness. She gave a silent cry while remembering being taken away from her family at a very young age. "(Y/N)?" Caesar said quietly. "What's wrong?" He asked with a raspy voice. (Y/N) quickly wiped away her tears.
"Nothing." She cleared her throat.
"(Y/N). Tell me." Caesar said seriously. She shook her head but that was when she broke down.
"I didn't even say goodbye, Caesar... Not to Will or Charles or Caroline... and now they're gone. And I'll never get to see them again." (Y/N) cried as she held Caesar's hand. Caesar desperately wished he could get up and hug his sister.
But he was to weak, so all he could say was, "I'm here. I always will be. Don't worry about that... I love you (N/N)." (Y/N) smiled as she cried more tears then she ever has before, but she didn't care. She was with her brother, and that's what mattered.
A Few Hours Later
(Y/N) was still in her spot next to Caesar, holding his hand tightly. Then suddenly the front door opened and Malcolm came through with a bag. But someone else came in too. Blue Eyes slowly walked inside the house and through the doorway and met eyes with Caesar. He was holding a gun as he walked but put it down once he got beside his father.
"Your... mother, brother... safe?" Caesar asked weakly.
"For now." Blue Eyes replied. Caesar nodded and continued to breathe heavily. Blue Eyes looked to (Y/N).
"Got shot." She signed. He then focused on Caesar and noticed the bullet hole in his left shoulder. Immediately, Blue Eyes turned around and faced the humans and growled at them. The humans back up before Caesar spoke.
"No." Blue Eyes faced back to his father. "Not... human." He said. "Koba." He finished. Blue Eyes stood shocked as he just stared at Caesar.
"Caesar..." Ellie said quietly as she interrupted. "We need to do this now."
"No." Caesar said. "Help (Y/N) first." (Y/N) shook her head.
"Caesar, no. We need to get that bullet out so you can stop Koba-"
"And I need you... with me." (Y/N) looked at Caesar's serious face and nodded.
"Fine." She said. Ellie dropped the bag and got out the bandages.
"Okay, this is going to hurt... a lot."
"I've dealt with worse." (Y/N) assured. Ellie wasted no time in holding her wing and snapping it back into place on the count of two instead of three and wrapping the bandages around it. And during that time, (Y/N) only gave a slight flinch. "Alright Caecae. Your turn." She said while giving her infamous smirk.
Nighttime
Caesar's operation was done, it was the middle of the night and everybody was asleep. Except Blue Eyes and (Y/N). Blue Eyes was sitting by Caesar's side, looking at the photo of Caesar, (Y/N) and a human. (Y/N) was sitting by the window keeping watch for any unknown trespassers.
Suddenly, Caesar woke up breathing heavily, gaining the attention of the two. He gave a small smile to the both of them as they sat next to him, making sure he was okay. "I'm so sorry." Blue Eyes signed. "For everything." Caesar shook his head.
"No. I... am to blame."
"But Koba betrayed you."
"I chose to trust him. Because... he is ape."
"We all trusted him. None of us knew this would happen. It's not your fault, Caesar." (Y/N) added. Blue Eyes nodded in agreement.
"But I always think... ape better than human. I see now... how much like them we are." Blue Eyes and (Y/N) listened to what he was saying. "Where Koba now?" He asked.
"On the human tower. Loyal apes around him."
"And those who not follow?"
"Prisoners. Maurice. Rocket... Koba killed Ash." (Y/N) gave a silent gasp. She was shocked and angry. How could an ape kill another ape who is only a child? It's just cruel. And it seemed Caesar shared the same emotion. Blue Eyes gave a silent cry. "Fear makes others follow. But when they see you alive...they will turn from Koba."
"Not if I am weak. Ape always seek... strongest branch." (Y/N) nodded. "We must do something... to stop him-" Caesar said as he tried to sit up, but grunted in pain and laid back down.
"Caesar, it's okay. Rest." (Y/N) whispered.
"F-Father... let me... h-help you." Blue Eyes said. This was the first time he had spoken clearly. And Caesar was so proud.
