Chapter 28: Welcome Home

I'm going to make the bird a male. If you want yours to be female, just change it in your mind. I just have to write things in brackets a lot and it looks really confusing.

The apes tied the humans onto two horses, two of them on each horse. 

"You're letting us go?" The main soldier asked a little scared. The other apes stood on the wall and watched. Caesar, Maurice and (Y/N) stood in front of the humans. 

"Tell your Colonel, you have seen me now... and I have a message for him. Leave us the woods and the killing can stop." Caesar said before he nodded to an ape to let them go. The horses started trotting away and that same soldier continued to look at Caesar and soon they were out of sight. 

"Are you sure Caesar?" (Y/N) signed. 

"Do you think they will give him the message?" Maurice also asked. 

"They are the message. He will see we are not savages." 

The silence was stopped by Winter barging through the crowd of apes on the top of the wall. 

"The traitor attacked me! He got away!" He signed frantically. Then (Y/N) let out a loud whistle. (B/N) came flying down and landed on her shoulder. 

"Follow that ape. Find where he went." She said. (B/N) took off into the sky and did what he was told. Caesar nodded a small thanks to (Y/N). 

The apes made their way down to the rocks near the water. They washed off the blood and had a rest. 

"Koba...still haunts us. Why didn't I see that he could not forgive what humans did to him?" Caesar said with guilt. (Y/N) and Maurice sat on either side of him. 

"No one could have known how much darkness was living inside of him." Maurice protested. 

"You did what you had to do, Caesar." (Y/N) signed, Maurice nodded in agreement. 

Then a loud horn blew throughout the air, capturing all the apes attention, letting them know that someone was coming. All the apes stopped resting and made their way up to the entrance of the small tunnel at the front of their home. Two figures on horses were seen in the darkness. They came closer to the apes and made they way into the light. 

Blue Eyes and Rocket were shown and the apes lowered their spears. "Father!" Blue Eyes signed. Caesar walked over to Blue Eyes and once they met, they hugged tightly. They let go and Caesar smiled as he looked at his eldest son. He looked at Rocket and touched foreheads. 

"Welcome home, Rocket." He said as he smiled continued to stay on his face. (Y/N) walked over to the three apes. 

"Blue Eyes! Rocket!" She exclaimed as she hugged them both with her arms and wings. They hugged back, all of them extremely happy to see each other. Once they parted (Y/N) said, "you both look tired." 

"It was a long journey." Rocket signed as he laughed. 

"Father, we found something!" Blue Eyes added. 

"Come." Caesar said and ushered the two towards the caves. All the apes hooted as they watched them walk through, (Y/N) walked behind next to Maurice. All the apes made it up to the caves. As they entered, the children came crawling/running towards them, Cornelius ran to (Y/N). 

"Mother!" Blue Eyes called as he hugged his mum. (Y/N) handed Cornelius over to Caesar. Cornelia looked to the baby ape. 

"Cornelius..." She called. "Say hi to your brother!" Cornelius reached out to Blue Eyes while holding onto his dad. "Look who's here, son..." Cornelia signed as she pointed to a female ape who was helping children. Blue Eyes looked to where his mum was pointing and met eyes with the female. 

"Lake..." He signed as he walked up to her, she looked at him shocked, they touched foreheads. Caesar and Cornelia looked to their son and saw how much he had grown. Watching how he's fallen in love made then realise how quickly he had matured. 

(Y/N) stood on her own while this was happening. She felt so happy for Lake and Blue Eyes. She was so proud on how much Blue Eyes and Cornelius had grown but she couldn't help but feel a little lonely. There was no one here for her to love. And seeing Caesar with his family made her realise how much she wanted to someone to love and have a child with. All the apes her age had already gotten mates and the only humans that she knew were the horrible people who wanted to kill the apes. She looked up to the family once more and found that Caesar was watching her. 

"Come." He signed. (Y/N) walked over to him. "I know what you're thinking. And it's okay. You'll find someone, not sure when, but you will." 

(Y/N) smiled as Caesar held out an arm for her to hug him. "I guess so." She whispered to herself as she embraced her brother. Then she heard something, (B/N) was back. She let go of Caesar and looked to the opening of the cave and watched as (B/N) came flying in. 

"Gorilla got back to the human base. Massive. Hundreds of people and maybe more." (B/N) make bird sounds as 'talking' to (Y/N) as he shook his (F/C) feathers. (Y/N) gave a small shocked expression before telling Caesar what (B/N) had seen.
