A/N

(Y/N) Your Name

"Signing"

"Talking"

"We are the beginning!"

"And the end!"

The soldiers stood in their lines and shouted their battle cries. Colonel McCullough, Red Donkey and Preacher walked over to Caesar's cage about an hour later.

"Still alive." McCullough said astonished as Caesar got up and came out. Red Donkey attached the chains to his ankles and neck. "Send him to the quarry. Alone." Caesar looked at the Colonel then over to (Y/N)'s cage. She wasn't there. His eyes widened as he wondered where she was. The Colonel saw this and faced the same direction as Caesar. "She got ahold of one of my men when her chains were being taken off and let's just say... I'm down one soldier."

"Where is she now?" Caesar asked hesitantly. The Colonel faced him and didn't answer. He nodded his head to Red Donkey to take Caesar up to the quarry.

"Hold on." He said before he walked into the cage and leaned down. He slowly picked up an old doll. Nova's doll. "What is this? How did this get in here?" He asked Preacher. Preacher just shook his head, showing he didn't know. "Get him to work." He ordered.

Caesar was taken up to the quarry. He was placed in front of a rock with a pickaxe. He started hitting the rock and occasionally turned around to see Maurice, Bad Ape and Nova behind a large rock. They were a decent distance away, far enough that Maurice had to use binoculars to see Caesar. Luckily, soldiers were just spread around the camp as the apes worked so Caesar had a few chances to sign to Maurice. Once he began his work, he looked back to Maurice. Maurice pointed over near another large rock in the quarry. It wasn't close to Caesar but he could still see it. And then he saw her.

(Y/N) had her wings tied behind her, tighter than before. Her right eye was bruised with other bruises covering her body. Dry blood stained her wings as fresh blood continued to slowly flow and fall. She had been working all night and Caesar could see that she was about to pass out any second for exhaustion and dehydration. Five soldier's surrounded her with their guns aimed. (Y/N) met eyes with Caesar and she gave him a small smile. Caesar didn't sign anything but his face showed shock and extreme concern. She mouthed the words "I'm okay" as she worked.

Caesar hated taking his eyes off her but he knew if the soldiers saw him not working, they would get suspicious. After a while, Caesar looked down to the apes as they walked around carrying items. Rocket and two other apes walked in the middle of the group.

"Thirty-seven." Rocket signed to Caesar then continued with the others. Lake and two other apes did the same.

"Fifty-five." She signed. Another ape came up beside her.

"Forty-six." They signed. Caesar nodded and turned around to Maurice.

"Thirty-seven steps to the adult cage. Fifty-five to the children. Forty-six to (Y/N), keep an eye on her." He signed and kept working.

---------------------------------------------------

It was beginning to get dark and the apes were brought back to the cages, including (Y/N). But she was thrown in and tied up to an 'X' in her cage, her wings were pinned. Red Donkey went into Caesar's cage with him. He took off Caesar's ankle chains.

"You know...Kerna shoot apes...when war is done." He said.

"His war is madness. It won't save him... anymore than it will save you." Caesar replied.

"I save myself." The gorilla said with a cocky smile.

"Is there anything left of you to save?" Caesar asked rhetorically. Red Donkey's smile dropped before he removed Caesar's collar harshly and walked out of the cage. Preacher locked the door.

A couple hours later, Caesar watched the apes cage as majority of them surrounded something. After a few minutes, they disbanded and moved to the front of the cage to communicate with Caesar.

"We can't keep digging! It will flood the whole tunnel!" Rocket signed.

"If we don't, we can't reach the children or (Y/N)!" Lake argued. All the apes started chittering until Caesar held his hand up and they all stopped. A soldier looked around from a higher base and after a few seconds, he went back in.

"We must keep looking down there. Find another way to reach them." Lake signed.

"We must leave now! More soldiers are coming! Humans will destroy each other and us with them!" Caesar signed frantically. He looked at the children's cage and (Y/N)'s then quickly faced the apes again. "We'll have to get (Y/N) and the children out above ground!

"How?" Rocket asked. Caesar thought for a moment then came up with an idea.

A soldier walked along the wall, he watched the outside to make sure no threat was coming. Until a thick wet substance hit the back of his head. It felt hot and cold at the same time. He turned around and looked down at the apes in their cage. "Hey!" He yelled. "You animals!" He groaned loudly in anger. He ran down to the cage and unlocked the door. He held up his gun and walked into the cage. "Who did that?" He asked. "Who did that?!" He asked louder. "Huh?" All the apes backed up except one. "Who was it?!" He asked before he looked at the ape who stood in front of the rest. "Was it you?" He asked angrily as he continued to aim his gun at the apes. He was interrupted by another hit to the right side of his head. He looked to his right and watched as the apes back up again. Except one.

Rocket stood strong as he held another handful, the soldier was so disgusted, he didn't know if it was mud or shit. The soldier stood a step towards Rocket and aimed his gun, ready to shoot. He was about to press the trigger but was pulled down through a hole in the ground and was knocked out immediately. A key was thrown back out.

The apes surrounded the hole and Maurice looked up. He handed the soldier's rifle up to Rocket. Rocket held the key for the other cages and the gun for any soldiers and showed them to Caesar. Caesar gasped and smiled. They were going to escape.
