A/N

(Y/N) Your Name

2012. "Caesar!" (Y/N) yelled while flying and jumping around the house, looking for the cheeky chimpanzee. In the past year, her wings had been growing larger and stronger, making it easier to fly around. She then got to the stairs that led up to the attic, and they were closed. She flew up to the rope on the ceiling and tried to pull it down but it would budge. "Caesar! Open up!" All she heard from the other side was the giggles coming from the 4 year old chimp. Then finally the stairs came down and (Y/N) flew up.

She looked around the attic but it was silent. Her brother was nowhere to be seen. "Where are you?" She asked no one in particular. Suddenly, a small ball hit her in the head. She looked up  and saw Caesar sitting on one of the beams, giggling away. "You'll be sorry!" She yelled as she chased him around the room. Caesar stopped and sat on the bed. He put his right hand on his forehead in an 'L' shape, signing the word 'Loser'.

After about 20 minutes of constant bickering and jumping, they both sat down on the bed. They looked out the window and found the stars coming out. Night time. They both went downstairs to find their 'dad', Will Rodman. They found him sitting on his father's bed, Charles Rodman, injecting him with a serum. They both stood in the doorway, watching from the side. Will caught them and put his finger to his mouth and made a quiet 'shh' sound to the kids. Both of them returned the gesture back to him, showing they understood.

After a few minutes, they both started to feel a bit sleepy. They got up and went back to the attic, AKA, their room. Once they got up, they both laid down and held each other close to keep warm. And soon, they were fast asleep.

The Next Day

(Y/N) woke up to smooth playing piano. Since when did anyone in this house play piano well? She slowly sat up and stretched her wings. "Caecae?" She asked wondering where her ape brother was. She heard cheerful hoots coming from behind her. Caesar was looking out the window, ushering (Y/N) over.

(Y/N) came and looked out the window. The children who lived next door were playing on their bikes. Going over obstacles and chasing each other around. Much like Caesar and (Y/N) would, without the flying and swinging of course. So maybe they could get along?

"Kids! Come inside for breakfast!" They heard from outside. It was the kids' dad. Caesar swung over to the other side of the attic.

"What are they doing?" (Y/N) asked him.

"Gone inside." Caesar signed back. Then he got mischievous grin on his face. Then (Y/N) joined him once she figured out what he was planning. They went outside over near the neighbours garage. Caesar swung on the power lines as (Y/N) flew above. They both landed at the entrance.

Back Inside

"Caesar? (Y/N)?" Will looked in the attic but couldn't find the trouble-making duo. He didn't know where they went. Will went back downstairs and called for Charles. "Dad! I can't find either of them."

"What?" Charles asked confused. Where could they have possibly gone? "Let's check outside." Will nodded as they both headed out the door and called their kids names.

"Caesar?! (Y/N)?!" Will yelled.

"They can't have gone far." Charles said. A second later, they heard commotion coming from their neighbours back yard. A chimp yelping, girl shouting and a man yelling.

"Get out of here beasts! Get!" He yelled.

Will sprinted over to them. "Get away from him!" He heard (Y/N) yell. Once he got to the scene, he saw Caesar staying in a corner while (Y/N) was hugging him with her wings and protecting him from the bad man swinging a bat.

"Hey, hey!" Will yelled as he stood in front of the man and his kids. "ENOUGH! Enough!" Caesar hopped up onto Will and held him tightly. (Y/N) did the same thing to Charles.

"Hey, it's okay, it's okay." He whispered to her.

"What's the matter with you?" Will said to the bad man.

"If I see those ANIMALS anywhere near my house or my kids again-"

"They're not dangerous!" Charles protested.

"It won't happen again." Will said with an angry tone as he walked away.

"Damn right it won't." The crazy neighbour replied.

Will walked through the gate as he heard his dad say, "They just wanted to play. Come on (Y/N)." Charles carried (Y/N) out, following Will while (Y/N) looked at the children who had disgusted expressions on their faces. Charles shut and locked the gate. He knelt down and put (Y/N) down beside him. Charles then noticed the deep cut on Caesar's knee. "How bad is it?" He asked his son.

"I don't know." Will replied.

"Will he be okay?" (Y/N) asked in a slightly scared voice, worried for her brother.

"Of course he will, dear." Charles said smiling and bringing her close, making (Y/N) hug back. She nodded but continued to look at the bloody cut on Caesar's knee.

"We need to bring him to a vet." Will suggested.

Charles nodded, "But which one?" He asked.

"The zoo." Will replied.

"I'm coming!" (Y/N) said. "I want to make sure he's okay." Will smiled.

"He will be, sweetie. Don't you worry about that. Besides, we need you here. To look after grandpa." Will mentioned.

"It's true, I'm old. I need a brave girl to look after me." Charles added in. (Y/N) sadly nodded. She may be only 4 years old, but she knew the real reason why they wanted her to stay home. To keep her safe.
