A/N

(Y/N) Your Name

"Signing"

"Talking"

Caesar looked through the binoculars and saw soldiers sitting by fires, walking around the camp and a few apes helping soldiers who were working. While Caesar continued to watch, he inhaled deeply in an angry manner.

"Did you find the Colonel?" Luca asked.

"No... Winter." Caesar replied.

Winter cleaned dirty dishes in one of the cabins. As he held onto a plate, he heard movement behind him. He looked into the mirror in front of him and saw Caesar and (Y/N) standing near the door, both holding guns. He dropped the dish and faced the siblings.

"Where's the Colonel?" Caesar asked quietly but deeply. (Y/N) held her wings up and her eyes glowed red. Winter looked to his right and saw Luca. He looked to his left and saw Rocket. Both of them shared the same angry look that Caesar and (Y/N) had on their faces.

"He's gone." He signed a little skittish.

"Gone?" (Y/N) asked harshly, scaring the shit out of Winter.

"He left this morning..." He continued. "Took many men with him. More soldiers are coming down from the North." They slowly walked towards Winter. "The Colonel is going to meet them...at the border."

"What border? Why?" Caesar asked, still walking with (Y/N) behind him.

"I don't know. But the rest of us are going tomorrow. The donkeys think the soldiers from the North are coming to help finish the apes off for good. That day, after the battle on the hill. The donkey we caught promised me the Colonel would spare my life... if I told them where you were hiding. Forgive me!" Winter begged as he held his hand out, asking for forgiveness. (Y/N) and Caesar both held in their tears of sadness and hatred but Caesar was the one who spoke,

"My... son. My... wife. Are dead." As (Y/N)'s eyes glowed red, and it seemed Caesar's were too. Not literally, but the amount of anger built inside showed otherwise.

Winter whimpered and gasped as he looked over to the side of the cabin. His calls got louder but were cut off by (Y/N) hitting the end of her gun across his head. Luca and Rocket held Winter's arms down while Caesar had him in a head lock. Two soldiers stood outside the cabin, their shadows showing on the side. (Y/N) stood by the door with her gun ready.

After about 30 seconds of the apes struggling to keep Winter under control, the soldiers went away and continued what they were doing. Winter had stopped moving and the apes let go of him, only to find that he had been suffocated by Caesar. Caesar didn't even mean too, he was just focused on not being found.

They looked to the white ape one last time before letting go of him and leaving him there for the soldiers to find him.

They got back to Maurice and the little girl. They all sat around the fire. Caesar sat next to his sister while she leaned on his shoulder.

"Now what do we do?" Maurice asked.

"Wait till the soldiers go. Follow them to the Colonel." Rocket replied. Caesar drank from a makeshift water bottle then stopped once he noticed the little girl was watching him. He looked to her then into the fire and saw an ape sitting on the other side. The ape was someone who Caesar had never hoped to see again.

"Koba?" He said. Koba stared back at Caesar and smirked his evil smile.

"Ape... not kill... ape." He said.

Caesar bolted awake, gasping loudly. He woke up to see Maurice and his sister looking at him worriedly.

"The soldiers are leaving!" Maurice signed. Caesar sat up to find that indeed, the soldiers were riding horses and driving cars and trucks across the beach.

"You okay?" (Y/N) asked concerned as she put a hand on his shoulder.

"It's just... I saw Koba." He whispered the name quietly but (Y/N) still got it.

"Don't worry Caesar. He's gone." She smiled and gave him a hug. "Now let's find the Colonel."

They rode along the beach up North, while (Y/N) flew through the sky. They eventually found mountains covered in snow. They could barely see as the snow fell from above. They trotted through until they noticed the soldiers had stopped.

"They stopped." Caesar said. Then a loud bang went off. It was yet again, another gunshot. They were all getting so tired of the noise. "Get down!" Caesar said as they all jumped off their horses and hid behind a large rock. (Y/N) landed next to Caesar. He put his arm around her and pulled her close, knowing she would be freezing, especially because she had no fur.

"What are they shooting at?" Rocket asked. Caesar only replied the truth.

"I don't know."
